I have a strong curiosity about the subject. Have any of the drag strip guys ever checked what G force you are pulling at launch. I checked mine last night and 0.83 g was all I could pull and my tires were spinning so probably most of the g force came after I let off and reapplied power. Of course I had very poor 60' tiimes and very poor 0-60 mph evic times also. The track was so poor I only made 2 runs and went home.
I'm really curious about the guys using drag radials when they get a good hook.
I posted this same question on another Challenger forum and only got a couple replies . maybe you will get more interest here. I had asked in regard to the Scat Pack/SRT cars and best reply was a 1.13 g with a 1.69 60' with DR's.
I pulled a 1.34 on drag radials at the drag strip.
I have slicks now and going again this coming Saturday and will see if I can pull harder with them which I think I will.
Super ! Mind sharing some info about your slicks? Did the DRs seem to hook good? It will be interesting to see the difference if they both hooked good with similar launch techniques.
Slicks hook every time. I own a set of Hoosiers 28X10 on 17" wheels. Drag radials are not consistent on hooking but do hook well when they do.
That 1.34G was from a 12 flat run I did and it snapped my head in the head rest.
1.34 G on a 12 flat ? the reply I got from the thread off other site showed EVIC pic at 1.13 1.69 60 ' on a 11.96. makes me think EVIC G read outs are not accurate
I don't have the evic, but I've always wondered how many G's my car pulls on the launch. There are calculators like the one I have linked below, but I don't know how accurate they are. This one would imply that I pull 1.34 G's given a 1.67 60'.
Im not 100% sure if the EVIC is accurate or not but I will test it again and post up after next Saturday. My 60ft on tha pass was a 1.74 so according to the formula I pulled a 1.24G
My G yesterday was 0.91 but the 60' was 1.92. The calculator says it should have been 1.02Gs. Not very accurate. I don't believe most of the online calculators. Seems most I've compared my Scatpack to are barely a good guess.
