Mr. Norm's Challenger beats LX Platform 1/4 mile record - Dodge Challenger Forum: Challenger & SRT8 Forums

Today in Georgia, prepping for the Mopar Nationals (which this car will run this weekend), Mr. Norm's Challenger beat the existing 1/4 mile record for LX platforms, based on the timeslips posted on the LX Forum.

Here are the stats for the best run:

60' = 1.467
330' = 4.073
1/8 mile = 6.256 @ 108.92 mph
1000' - 8.133
1/4 mile = 9.705 @ 140.58

Should be pretty interesting this weekend to see if another car bests this, or they do better. In any case, right now, this is the time to beat.

Great time...will be hard to beat as the other cars are pretty much all street cars...ie stock IRS, trans, K member etc. Great time none the less!

I don't have either in hand. I first heard by text message, then by phone from one of the Mr. Norm's team, who read to me the timeslip while I wrote down the numbers.

I'm sure we'll be seeing this, or another, lower timeslip after the weekend.

Props for sure to the Mr Norms KB car! This is a purpose built drag car with tubular front end, straight axle and a 727 torqueflite tranni. Sick Build!

Holy crap Trojan, 10.18 at 136!!! I hadn't seen that until now, where have I been? Congrats, that's movin'!

Not to diminish the accomplishments of the Mr. Norm's purpose-built drag car, but it's more impressive to me that you're knocking on the door of 9's in a streetable muscle car
