The Challenger win doesn't surprise me. As expected, the 4-wheel drive Jeep gets the jump off the line, but the 6.1 Challenger catches the "flying brick" at the top end. Still, very impressive performance for the heavier Jeep.

Times:

Challenger- 12.98 sec. @ 109 mph
Jeep- 13.56 sec. @ 100 mph

The newer Jeeps are definitely much heavier than the outgoing 6.1. If you want a very interesting race, get a tuned 6.1 Jeep. A bud of mine, with a custom tuned Jeep, put down 12.3 in the 1/4mi with a 1.7 60ft (user CenTexHemi).

That is my Challenger! it is an 08 with 44K on the clock....one leg rear (no LSD) and Hankook Evo street tires. No sense just mashing it off the line it will just spin one tire. The Cherokee driver turned an impressive .018 light vs my .250. He works for RennTech and gets paid to race....It was at PBIR on January 30th....Great night!

It doesn't surprise me the Challenger won, but only a 100 mph trap speed for the Jeep - really? It's not like it's July...

Auto? DA wasn't that good so a 12.xx is pretty good,. decent air would get you a couple more tenths. Leave esp on, the electronic nannies will make both wheels spin. Best launches are no spin anyway. My track doesn't have room to go around the water box, so I have to do short spins to get the water off my tires. I can assure you both my wheels spin and I have a plane jane RT, with the open differential..

Yes auto. Air temp was 72 humidity 81 pressure 30.00. DA would be 1056 ft. Kind of summerish. ESP off.

I raced the same night here in Texas, weather was funky, 66* then got warmer , had to run defrosters or windshield would fog up. Da was supposed to be 800 ft or so, but times were much slower. I won all my races against some decent competition.2011 Camaro SS, 97 Cobra, new Chevy p/u and a Mitsubishi EVO, but was anticipating better as I just put on a set of BFG Comp2's in 255 width.

I have been looking at a 2008 Jeep SRT8 with 63000 miles on it but am not sure if I want to trade my 2010 Challenger RT with 20000 miles on it. The Challenger retails 1000 dollars more than the Jeep SRT8 so it would have to be pretty close to it even up trade if I was to do it. With just a CAI I have run the best of 13.207 @ 105.25 with a DA of over 1400 feet. Would it be smart to trade or just keep what I got?

Keep what you got and put on some slicks for the track.
