I went ahead and used standard slip joint pliers to take the tension off of the hose clamp, and move the 'ears' to a more vertical position in order to increase clearance for future routine catch-can checking and draining.

I'm not sure what you're referring to? My catch can has no hose clamps. The hoses just slip on.
Are these catch cans really necessary. I sure do feel like a sucker for one, but honestly, is this a real issue with the R/T 5.7L? Either way, thanks for the video. That was a very good demonstration.

From what I've seen, YES. My Vette buddies run them too and highly recommended it.
Seems most folks get 1-2oz a month outta the thing depending on how much you drive and what not.
I'm going to monitor mine and update the page with the amount I get out of it.
