Re: Howdy brothers

I think the whole "what is more valuable" thinking is starting to fade. I run a cruise-in here and I see a big variety of cars. Tonight, for example, I there was a Hemi 'Cuda convertable! I have had Classic Ferrari's and even a REAL 427 side oiler Shelby Cobra. People are tired of only collecting these cars, they want to drive them.

My baby is a numbers car so I am leaning towards keeping it "fairly" original and bulding up the original 318 a little, just enough to add some thrill and still be reliable. I guess I still consider the collector value but I want to still enjoy her, not just look. More and more I meet like minded people. I think the people that have the cars understand what we are talking about. It's the ones that don't have them, but study books, that don't get it. It is more of a "I wish I had it, so I am going to criticize you for what you have done differently than I would have" jealousy attitude.

Re: Howdy brothers

IM not sure I agree with you, but thas ok. Hemi Challengers,Cudas, Chargers, Road Runners, Super Bees, etc etc are posting bigger numbers than some exotic supercars. With more baby boomers coming of age, the cars they wish they could have owned as kids, IE 25 to 30 years ago, are now going to be available to them. Prices for the top dog MOPARS will continue to climb for the next couple of years...As will the number of fraud cars on the market...

Re: Howdy brothers

EDIT my last post, I didnt read your post right initially! I too believe that the collector phase is moving on and these cars, even thought they are getting astronomical prices at auction, will actually be driven more than they have in the past 20 years...That is a good thing!!

Re: Howdy brothers

All I really know is that I plan to drive the **** out of mine.
What happens to value happens. I am enjoying what I have.
