I am glad to see someone step up with High Performance Parts other than Arrington. When I started my build's Arrington was the only game in town. The factory hardware is very fragile a upgraded bottom end is smart long term investment.

So lemme get this straight Andy. For approximately $5300-$5600 I could get a stroker shortblock with forged internals? Wow, I know what I'll be doing for my next upgrade! 3 questions though...

(1) What are the advantages of these shortblocks versus the MOPAR one I have now? In other words, why not just upgrade my internals to forged components with stroker rods, and save $3K?

(2) What is the native horsepower of the 8.5:1 426 versus the 11:1 426 stroker?

(3) What is the native horsepower of the 8.5:1 426 versus the 11:1 440 stroker?

PS: Man you really oughta put a list of threads in your forum that you've posted out in the general forums. You post a ton of good info out here that can't be found if one's searching your PWR forum... Just a thought.

Thanks,
Omi

1. You can buy the rotating assembly for $2500, $250 to balance it, then you have to pay someone to bore the block, hone the cylinders, line hone the main caps, stroke clearance the block, and then assemble it all together. If you can find someone to do that for $2,000 and give you a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, you should jump on that.

2. I havent built any engines as low as 8.5:1, the lowest I would go is 9:1. 9:1 vs 11:1 is going to be about a 30hp difference.

3. 440 only makes an additional 15hp over a similarly equipped 426.

I try to put everything in my vendor section, but sometimes I will post out here in the performance section. I will try to link them when I do that in the future.

Also, for what its worth, the PWR branded shortblock sells for $4495, I just dont have them on the shelf like ERL and Arrington which is why I offer those also. I would like to eventually have my shortblocks on the shelf, I just need to catch up first.
