RDP Blower

Hey Tim,

Any idea as to how much for the twin screw blower package? Also, what is the difference in the amount of boost can you put on the 426 with 10.3 and the 8.8 compression ratios.? This is something I plan on doing on my challenger.

Re: RDP Blower

The RDP blower kit is $10,500 for the non-intercooled system. You can safley run up to 12psi with the 10.3 comp PPP 426. Anymore then that I would recommend the lower compression unit where you could go 15-20psi. Note. I doubt the RDP would be able to create that high of boost in a Head+Cam 426 stroker. Expect approx. 9 psi with the RDP blower kit.

Re: RDP Blower

Is 9psi what you guys were running to get the 630rwhp numbers?

Re: RDP Blower

Tim, i know you mentioned you could only get about 9psi out of the RDP blower. Is there an underdrive pulley for the RDP yet? If so how much more boost would that net you?

Re: RDP Blower

The 9psi is with the smallest pulley they have made available- that I know of. Yes the 630 numbers were with 9psi. Im not sure the blower could make much more boost on the large and efficent 426. This same blower is made to work on a stock 5.7, so putting it on the 426 pushes it to its max. I think with additional tuning and an intercooler, more power can be made.

Thanks for the info Tim. If all goes well I'll be contacting you guys in November for one of these kits. With those numbers, i think 9 psi and an intercooler would be plenty for me.

Re: RDP Blower

630 whp will spin the tires at 70mph on the highway. Which is scary and a whole lot of fun at the same time.

Re: RDP Blower

After trying many different tires, we have had the best luck with the Hoosier drag radials, they are alittle pricey, but seem to hook the best. Our best 60ft time was on those tires (1.50 60ft time) But I am a big fan of the MT ET's as well.

What really limits all out drag tires like many Mustangs run are the rear brake size. We could run a drag slick/radial with more side wall and a smaller wheel if we changed the rear braking system. The downside is that it would mean removing a great rear brake and we like the car for its all around performance.

Maybe the vendors will start making a bigger diameter slick, like a 17'' or 18''. I agree, its nice having the car with such all around performance. Changing out the rear breaks would not be an option for me either. A 1.50 60' time is incredible for a 4200lb car. Was that on an all NA motor, or forced induction? What size rim and tire do you use for the Hoosier drags?
