Re: 2008 challenger 4sale

I'm sorry but I've read that the Shelby GT500 was seen already 2000 under MSRP !
I'm very confident that hype wil go down , anyhoot I don't have to buy before 2010 , it'll just about right time for ripe pickins in an abundance of flavours

I have the 3rd SRT8 on any board that I'm aware of and although I paid MSRP it wasn't a dime over. That was back when the SRT8 was a huge deal. Essentially this is the same powertrain that's been around for 3 years now, just in a new skin.

You guys need to understand is I hate the over to. I have bought bikes for over and hated it. Remember when the housing market was slammed and you had to pay over and do it that day. Know one at that time bad mouthed realtors, they are sales people also. Doctor's bill you 600 bucks and see you for 5min. Now there are the super rich guys I could call but they won't even play in the car. So this will get me no where have a nice time waiting

Rambit I really hope you get one I think you will wait and use it

Honestly I'm not even waiting for a Challenger. I'm waiting going on 7 months for my Jeep GC SRT8, but the HP Kicker option is still unavailable. It really sucks cuz I don't drive my car in the winter and obviously my bike either.

I've seen the realtor analogy many times, but never gave it any credibility. Houses are a neccesity. These cars (SRT8 version) are meant for an extremely small ever decreasing specific niche market. I predict that with every dollar increase in the price of crude and subsequent increase at the pump, potential buyers of these cars will decrease dramatically. I'm on many LX boards and I know what SRT8's are going for these days and I'm sure you do as well.

Re: 2008 challenger 4sale

selling cars sucks. he's right, people do come at you with all kinds of attitude, lie straight to your face and expect you're lying with each word that comes out of your mouth. the only people that make it as car salesman are those who can compartmentalize their thinking; that is, those who can sell cars to people who hate them, go through the grueling process of negotiation with the customer and the manager and finally sell a car only to find out it was a $50 mini-deal when you've spent 4 hours with the customer.

when it all comes down to it, we're all humans.

i don't think the time is right for a salesman to come on an enthusiast board and try to sell to this audience. there are more dreamers here than people who will actually plunk down their hard earned cash for a car, and not a single one of them will pay over MSRP - they are willing to wait until they are able to strike a deal below MSRP. i wish you luck, though, in your endeavors. just think about the audience here and rethink if you want to take the abuse for $0.

Now wait just a minute !!!! I want to hear more info about that "$50 mini deal ! Most know that automakers give kickbacks to dealers ,whom I presume feed that or some back to the prospective salesmen. Is it not true that if a vehicular is sold at MSRP that a profit is approximately $2-4000 : give or take an amount I'm not sure of at this moment ??? Also, can you tell me/us under what circumstances where a salesman would make $0 ? I lay no claim to knowing all of the "ins & outs" of profits or losses ,but in order to make zilch dollars a salesperson/dealer would have to sell said vehicular at exactly his [dealer] invoice amount ;which may even get said dealer/saleperson a "kickback" !!!

Re: 2008 challenger 4sale

Hello from Germany!

Unfortunatelly you can't by any Muscle-Car officially here in Germany, so you have to import it on your own. Because Dollar-Euro ratio is quite goog for imports today, I'm very interested in a Dodge Challenger or perhaps the upcoming Camaro.
I've never been a fan of american car-styling in the 90ies, but the new retro-design, I just love the looks! :-)

What would be an apropriate sales discount on a challenger, mustang, camaro today? Are there any? My knowledge about th u.s. american car market is very limited!

In Germany you can't sell cars without sales discount. Even with Mercedes, BMW or AUDI (which are quiet expensive here, too!) you'll normally get around 5%.

Thanks for your help!

Dom
