Re: Wanted: 79-83 challenger...

I actually got in a fight with a seller on Ebay about this about a year ago... There not very well known. I don't know a great deal about them still but I don't think their that closely linked to the American Muscle version of the Challenger. I think they just needed a name and it wasn't meant to be a revival or anything like that... I could be 100% wrong though...

Re: Wanted: 79-83 challenger...

No ur pretty much right, as with the other 80's cars that were supposed to be revival of some older classic cars, the dodge charger for instance, a pretty lame revival i agree with the old school guys that the 80's revivals were pretty poor. However its still a come back and comebacks are always a good idea personally. The 79-83 challenger howevever is a pretty decent looking car to be called a revised challenger in my own opinion!!!! Even though it was already a mitsubishi car that had been the sapparo and chrysler of course bought some as with many cars in that era, calling them their own name lol.

I have an '87 Starion from high school stashed away in my sisters garage, pretty good shape with a lot of HKS parts. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, all it needs is a new battery to get it running, was a fun car back in the day.

It's an '87 palermo gray, 5 speed, loaded, very good condition. I will try to get pics this weekend if you are interested, also would it be a parts car or driver?

Re: Wanted: 79-83 challenger...

depends on the condition, it runs decent? if so its gettin upgraded to better parts anyway, and if its a good body and good paint its def not gonna be a parts car, Really i would only buy it if the body was good and paint. I would love a good palermo starion!!! Very nice color and a color i have not had in any of the ones i owned. Just bought a mint fiji blue conquest which is a roller and getting heavily modded with MPI conversion and coil on plug setup and such. So the palermo would be a daily driver with upgraded parts and such. Fill me in on all the details man. Where are u at by the way? Heads up too, throw a price u would liek to get, im not looking to spend much at all as they arent really worth much, and go pretty cheap on sites for the cars. If the price is good enough and ur not too far from me its a deal. I am actually going to be buying a turbo caravan shortly and wasnt even looking to buy another SQ per say but i have been wanting a nice one thats reliable i could use or wutever when i dont have the kids in a color i have wanted lol.

The body is in very good shape, I polished the wheels and the center is painted gray, has a 6 disc cd changer, evc boost controller additional injectors, header, turbo timer and hks exhaust and power filter with blow off valve. Also has painted '84 hood with the scoops cut out so they are functional. I'm located in Colorado Springs.

Re: Wanted: 79-83 challenger...

I used to have one of these..
1978 was the style I liked best
I bought it because of the interior, it was like sitting in a fighter jet
with it's wrap around instrumentation and overhead gauges..
