Although I'd like to have launch control...I dunno. Look at all the issues with the "Active suspension" many are having on the 2012's....kinda glad I don't have it. I've had enough issues with door handles..lol

I called the srt people and asked about it after i gave my vin they told me being its a street car they wouldn't explain it to me but I could find it on internet.
But to be fair to the srt guys the reason was it had to do with diableling the esc and thats a safe feature.

I didn't think they were available in the 13's until 1st or second quarter.

On SRT's Facebook page (SRT - driveSRT) they mentioned that cars built after October has this feature.

I'm curious now as to why Chrysler would want to add this feature. I hear a lot of talk about people dumping the clutch and either getting a lot of wheel hop or broken axles. A friend of mine who has an SRT along with a lot of his friends has told me to be very cautious about the rear end in my car.

I hope like hell he is wrong or it effects years prior to mine....is there any truth to what he is telling me?

first off it sucks to be the guy who bought a 2013 made in Sept who didnt get launch control...i wouldnt have bought a 2013 w/o it....that bites

ive seen video's of Camaro SS's doing the launch control and it looks awesome.....it makes every idiot launch his 6 speed to perfection.....Dodge designed it not to break axles....if they didnt they'd be paying to replace them....

if 2011's had Launch control i would have gotten the 6 speed....im good at shifting a manual, but suck at launching......i find it strange it took Dodge 4 more years than Chevy to get it....

Even though I understand other's points about the convenience of having launch control...I personally wouldn't mind one bit being "the guy" that bought the 2013 that didn't have it.

I don't like any automated system that compensates for my bad driving skill. I don't like TQ control as it is. A more useful automated system is one that could detect an idiot behind the wheel and compensate for that.

Learning how to use your right foot on the accelerator will be a lost skill if this keeps up. No one will know how to compensate on slippery roads etc..."because the computer will do it for me". Just IMO...

EDIT: And ....I "get" the whole appeal of it. TQ control is now required on cars....pretty soon a black box might be required (it's actually being discussed by our government) ...next step - speed control??

Sorry - I need to correct myself...I've found out that the data recording so-called "Black Boxes" are already in 96% of all new cars already. No doubt we all have these things in our cars right now. They record everything in the final moments before a crash...whether you had your seat belt on, hit the brakes..etc. A bill was just signed to require ALL manufacturers install them in all vehicles within the next 2 years. Insurance companies are all for it...sorry - got off topic. Back to Launch Control...
