6.4 swap into 09 5.7 r/t

Any one have any info on this swap? My car is at Modern Muscle Performance getting this swap performed now. There is not much talk about it yet but I'm sure there will be in the future. Dave and the guys there have been great so far and have my new 6.4 prepped and installed into my challenger.They have run into the normal swap issues and worked through them with the help of their suppliers. Dave is the most knowledgeable Gen III Hemi guy I've ever talked with and the final hurdle for him will be getting the programming correct due to some engine mods and the fact that he has no prior info on this particular swap or baseline programming to start with. I am very excited and most confident that I will get the results we discussed befor we started this build. I'll keep everyone up to date as we move along.

Scott and john @ AMP have done the swap on a car .... to my knowledge it went perfect

Dave at Mordern Muscle called me over the weekend and said my challenger was almost ready to be picked up. He still has a couple little tweeks to make and finish installing my Hop Not kit. Hopefully this will correct some or all of the wheel hop created by the extra power. Michael at Hop Not was awsome to deal with also. I contacted him with some questions and recieved almost an immediate response. I hope the results of this swap are as good as the experience I had with the people and venders that helped along the way.

how much it run you for the engine and swap? just a round figure? was looking into this for a future mod

is this 6.4 going to have to go through a break in period as well in order for the VVTi to fully engage ??

I don't have any firm figures on the total swap as of yet. We did have an original estimate we were working off of but there has been so many changes along the way, I would hate to throw a number out there. I'm sure Dave and the guys at Modern Muscle Performance (276-666-1934) would be able to shoot you a quote after a short discussion about what options and end result you would like to get from your swap.

As for the break-in period, I am not sure. Dave said I needed to allow a full day for delivery of the vehicle so we could go over all information on the new motor and installation. I will be sure to ask him this question and let you know. I do know that he has logged several hours on the new motor including what he called break-in time on the dyno and on the roads because he has called and E-mailed me with updates along the way. Also can't wait to get to see it Dyno'd for my self and get the results
