MDS Baffles

Hey guys, has anyone run with the MDS baffles held open or gotten rid of them all together? Does having them open all the time increase sound in any way? I know i will get the weird motorboat noise in eco mode but im just curious as to whether or not anyone has any experience with keeping them open?

thanks

Where are they located? I looked and didn't see any on my '12 A5.

If you want them on all the time just buy a 4 cylinder car.

MDS is the lifters bled down so the valves wont open and is done by an electric solenoid.
At least that is how it is on my 06 Charger

I assume he's talking about the flaps in the exhaust that started in 2012. I would imagine that without them, it would sound nearly exactly like a 2011.

I removed mine since MDS is now disabled. It does sound a little better and there is absolutely no drone. I actually like it.

So I am assuming that these flaps are controlled by the spring pressure (keeping them closed)? I couldn't see any wiring for solendoinds.
Did you do a cat back or are you still running the stock mufflers and resonators?

Thanks.

I may try to get under there and see if there is a way I can rig the springs into keeping the flaps totally open all the time or maybe even remove the spring that close them somehow.
