Here are a few things/concerns/questions that are floating around the rumor mill now that tuning is available.
1. It was said that tuning puts the 392 to its original crate form which produces 525 horsepower.
2. Some believe the horsepower war could be evened out with forced induction capabilities for the 392, well i say "duh" to that.
3. Side note here people who got the bg tune must feel like a pile of you know what right now.
4. Does this mean we wont see a 6.2 liter supercharged challenger in the future?
5. Just how much power will a pre canned tune from the trinity produce if you dont believe #1 above?
6. Could the challenger break into the 11's in the quarter mile run given autos at best run 12.2's natural aspirated or would you need more? I say slicks and tune along with the right weather/d.a you got it.
7. Last but not least dyno-steve cant charged 12-15 grand for a pcm swap and supercharger. Sooooo thank you diablosport.
Why would anyone with a B&G feel like a pile of crap? I've been running mine since April and love they way it drives. From what I have read, the jury is still out if the tuner will disable tq mgmnt as much as the B&G and kill TC and ECO too.
I'm sure in time, the canned 93 Octane Tune will enable all of this but unless you kill the tq mgmnt & TC, you can make all the power you want
but it won't buy you much if it still pulls timing and fuel at shift and launch.
Don't get me wrong, the tuner is the way to go. I just want to see some 1/4 times with A5s in the 11s like the B&G does.
The entire kit (complete) will be around 7K, It can be installed at home with common tools, install time is approx 10 hours. You could pay an Edelbrock Certified Installer to do the work and then you would be eligible to purchase an Edelbrock Drivetrain Warranty that can cover up to 20K dollars in parts for 5 years or 100K miles.
This is an "OEM" level kit, everything is made and assembled in the USA, the screws come direct from Eaton and use the 160 degree twist TVS rotors.
The unit does not tap into engine oil, it has it's own oil system and is good for 100K before service. This is also an intercooled setup.
You reckon it will come with the trinity cause a supercharged only canned tune wont help with other mods will it

My dealer put an Edelbrock on a 6.4 with PCM swap..Has dyno sheet showing 700.5hp on the windshield in the show room.... he said all brackets needed to be custom. The pulley offsets are different for 6.4 than 6.1. Alternator is different(clutch type). Just some food for thought.
You don't think he was trying to squeeze a few more bucks out of you???

If how they market the 6.1 kits is any clue, it will be available with or without the hand held. I am assuming (haven't verified this with Edelbrock) that if you buy the kit without the hand held, you can download their tune. You would want to run their tune since each one is CMR'd for the exact vehicle.
The Challenger running an e-Force pushing 700 horse was probably running the "Competition" Eaton. The Street model will make 100-150 more horse than stock, it has a three stage adjustment spring, if you are letting someone else drive the car and you want to lock out the boost, you can, because these Eaton TVS setups are internally vented and you can lock the bypass valve open (it's also vacuum operated).
To give you an idea of the quality in this "kit" here is the e-Force for 6.1 parts layout and installed.

Looks like there will be at least 2 Toxic Orange 392's with the Eaton. Quality unit and a good price!
I can't wait. They had the install in horsepower tv a few months ago and I hope its still on my DVR. Would you be able to use the CompCams phaser 272 VVT or would that be overkill on the 392?
Yes correct, but the dynamics were different and mostly done by Dyno Steve using a SMS supercharger.
Dyno Steve would never touch my car and SMS supercharger would not be within 40 feet of my engine compartment. Try again.
392 with a supercharger and tuning, it might be different given people will use the 11+ PCM, but I am no tuner and don't have the code cheat sheet on NGC vs GPEC, do you? lol

Not sure how the CompCams 272 would work with this combo, would need to look at all of the specs for the cam to see how it would work with a force fed setup.
I do know this, adding a Methanol Injection kit in addition to this S/C will probably yield another 50 horsepower.
Pros and cons to both the Kenne Bell and Edelbrock kits but given the choice KB is gonna look better and make more power. I do like the preformed coolant hoses on the Edelbrock but it looks way too bulky and flat with the half covers. You can also lock out the boost valve spring on the KB for a valet mode if desired. Never had to interface with Edelbrock on a customer service issue but I'm sure they do a good job, that said however KB's customer service is unreal, they stand behind their product, period. These things are both pretty much plug-n-play with mild mechanical aptitude needed, some one with either one of these kits is fortunate indeed...
