Question Stock Alleged HP

Hi All.....I was just reading the dyno results. Am I missing something here? I thought the stock 2009 SRT8 RWHP was supposed to be over the 400 mark..??

Can someone advise please.

Advertised @ 425 at the crank, not at the rear wheels. You'll have to pay extra for that!

yeah, 425 at the fly and the wheels depend on what you had going on, A/C, Traction, Windows down, etc.

.. and that pesky transmission, driveshaft, differential, axleshafts, wheels... Jack your car off the wheels, put it in neutral, grab that driveshaft and give it a few turns... You'll see where all that horsepower goes to

Take the 425 hp the srt 8 has at the flywheel and substract 15-18%. That is a pretty accurate account of what your hp will be at the wheels.

Heh, I Dynod my car last week. 2008 SRT8. Couldnt break 270 rwhp on a Mustang dyno. Granted, it was 95 degrees in there, but I have a feeling the dyno operator screwed something up. I have much more research to do, but I do have dyno sheets in front of me showing max hp at 268

if you only hit 268hp, id definitely say he did something wrong. go elsewhere for your future dyno runs.
