Which Catch Can?

*PREFACE: Please DO NOT make this a thread about whether catch cans work or not!*

My new SRT should be arriving in 5-6 weeks and the lead times for Billet Tech can be pretty long, so I wanted to get this on order right away.

The only thing is, I don't know which to choose... Moroso or BT?

The BT seems to come in more color options and with more accessories matching the color of the can, but I've seen that Moroso is easier to empty?

Just want to see what the community consensus is here.

I've had both, and they both good.

The Moroso looks awesome, and works well. It is a pain in the butt to dispense though. There's a red rubber cap that goes over the drain spout. It is ridiculously hard to remove, because it seals on there super tight. I thought about getting rid of the cap, but don't want any oil to drip out on my car.

The BT is easier to install. Just a threading it on the stud where the air silencer would go, and then move the jam nut to secure. With the standard mount unscrewing the BT can take patience. Get some vice grips and move the radiator clamp over, to 11:00 position to have clearance when removing.

Both do the job, but the BT is cheaper, easier to use IMO, and easier to install. Both are high quality.

P.S. The braided hoses are crap IMO. They look good, but it disguises the true condition of your rubber hosing. I opted for some pvc hose from AutoZone and they stand up to the job well.

Thanks Omaha! I was already leaning toward the BT because of the custom color options. That's a shame about the braided lines. I really like the look of those. Are there any viable alternatives to BT for braided lines?

If you don't order braided lines, will BT give you rubber hose to use with their kit?

Standard Hose comes with either can, braided is the extra.

And braided hose is just fine - we have a car with over 80 thousand miles on it with braided hoses that have been on the car for the full 80,000 miles and they are still 100% perfect.

Braided comes in either stainless or black braided. But do not be afraid of the braided hoses, been selling them for years and the ratio of issues vs. working ones is not even close

I wish I never bought the Speedlogix hoses, I had a bad experience with them. Hoses weren't cut to the right length, despite asking over the phone if it would fit, also the rubber hoses collapsed which caused RPM surges. Most are satisfied, like Mikey said, but from then on I vowed to use just plan pvc hose. Function over fashion I guess.

I would go with the BT hoses if you absolutely want the look. They look very atttractive, understated, and appear to be high quality. They are also cheaper than Speedlogix.

SpeedLogix is a no brainer. Have no problems with their Braided hoses collapsing or anything. Nobody works with you better than Speedlogix.

Wait - you are saying they weren't the right length and you cut them down? How did you cut them?

We measured each line AFTER installing them on a car here. Maybe all cars are a little different...then you have engine covers that are different. BUT Each length of hose that we cut is based on an install we did here at our shop. Not sure how your lines were routed, but we cut them to spec based on an install we did

Its not so much that one is better then all the others its the fact that you need to get one sooner vs later is all that really matters. Appearance of said catch can brass fittings, etc is the only other variable I can think of. Personally I like a catch can that looks so stealth it looks like it came from the factory that way.
Just go out & get one. While it wont make your car go any faster it'll provide you some "peace of mind" vis a vis your engine. I say go for it, what're you waiting for?
