I have a 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T. I'm thinking of buying a supercharger for it. I'm new to performance stuff/add ons. Can I put a sc on a stock car or do I have to do other things first? I like to get my R/T over 400hp. Only mods I have on it now are volent cai and flowmaster super 44 exhaust. Any ideas what I should do first would be greatfull. If I can afford a srt8 I would of got that. Lol
You can make roughly 450-470 rwhp by bolting on a procharger and running low boost. Probably set you back a total of like 7000-7500 after install and tune. All it takes is money.
Regardless of the manufacturer, boost is boost. No one design produces more HP per pound of boost. It is all just air pressure regardless of who made the blower. Now WHEN the pressure is optimum for a particular STYLE of blower, that is different. The twin screw or a roots style produces better power in the lower RPM than a centrifugal which needs to spool up a little and is more effective at mid to higher engine RPMs.
With a good tune, the 5.7 stock engine can go up to about 8 pounds of boost safely but for more power or boost, it should be built stronger with forged parts.
Yep, like above, all it takes is money. Depending on style of blower, you will spend $7K to $10K for a blower. Things like air cooled through a intercooler or water cooled are a choice to make too. Be aware though that the warranty for engine, trans, drive shaft, axles etc are all at risk when you alter the car. Some dealers are better than others at how they look at mods like this.
With a good tune, preferably done on a dyno by a good tuner, at about 8 pounds, depending on other mods, a 5.7 can get in the range of 500 RHP and still be reliable. The trans tops out at about 600 hp input for the A5 from what I have understood, if anyone has better info, please let us know!
Now as we are talking about REAR wheel HP "RHP" there are line losses through the transmission etc so the engine HP is actually more. The GUESSTAMATE of crank HP is 593. You can do the math yourself here. Wheel Horsepower to Crankshaft Horsepower Guestimator
This pretty much maxes out the design for the engine and driveline.
Whenever you operate at max design, you most likely will shorten the life of the component.
So, it will come down to tune, how you drive and a bit of luck as to how long things will hold up.
My tuner has cars tuned at this level that have been solid daily drivers for 3 or 4 years without any issue. Will your or my car be OK for a long time? Well, there is no way to know.
As Clint Eastwood once said "do ya feel lucky?" OK I left out the "punk" but I felt it was not needed LOL.
you will have an increase cost on the 2015, yes the pcm are being unlocked, best to stick to a installer who has done this, by far the Magnuson has the best street manners, drive ability, reliability of any system for a daily street driven vehicle,
you can safely do 8 lbs of boost on a 5.7L and will gain approx 125/135 wheel hps, or approx 515/525 at the crank, a real fuel pump system is a most, not a fan of boost pumps
The problem is I live in Denver and I'm not going to travel for the install. I want a kenne bell or whipple. I have a kenne bell installer here. Just waiting on the tuning issue.
Please help this is a reat idea but dont know if it will work i have a life car meaning know get rid o its a 2013 5.7 police charger with 22,000 miles i want to stroke it to 410 arrington kit i was told to go with the 392 because i can boost it i want to know how to run 410 with boost sometime . Ill explain sometime.
I dont wnt no nos so dont suggest it ill tell you what im planning on doing .. but first set up 5.7 stroked to 410 if i go with the 392 rather then 410 i lose 70hp which i dont want to happen because if i wanted a 392 i would of just paid the extra 4000 and got it
Ok so far 410 stroker kit with 274 cam jba headers and mids with corsa extreme srt exhaust i want two cx racing turbos i want to custom the mids because its the cheapest i will weld a hole to match an electric cut out the whole will stick out 2/5 inchs the mid pipe will be cut str8 maybe 2 inchs from the hole and fitted for another electric cut out which will be installed open like a valve the front electric cut put will have a cx turbo on the other end installed close both cut outs while be opposites so when one opens the other closes ? the cut outs will be wired to a ebay switch that says boost that i will put in the hole on the dash where my column shifter was
The turbos whill run to my intake where another cut out will be installed and another welded whole will bee 2 inchs out
What i want is for me to be able to cut the turbos on and off cause i want it to thats why so dont ask me just help me make it work .. the psi will be ether 7 or 8 each i dont want one because i dont want to stress these ebay turbos of not working in a few years now i thought of the extra lag on top of the regular lag so maybe a daily super charger if i run 8 psi i will most likely put the turbos 5 and 5 then the super charger at 6 psi or 6 and 6 and the supercharger at 4 and yes the supercharger will be custom built supercharger is just for lower power and to reduce all lag from turbos...? please tell me how to safely run this boost and if i should drop the boost to lower and kill one turbo or what else im goning to get an snow stage 3 system for the ethonal
If stroke my 5.7 to 410 is Thierry anyway to safely run boost if so tell me what all I need I know the tune but what parts I want 10psi I explained in the above text using electric cut outs as valves for exhaust to power turbos on and off it will only be used every once in awhile for races maybe 4 -6x a month the max
i have no idea what most of all them words are supposed to mean, but i'm guessing you're asking how to make a quick change turbo. and essentially you can't. you'd need to completely change the tunes for the turbo and non turbo version. and you can't do that on the fly. your turbo button idea will not work on a fuel injected car.
