Well, we have all been waiting several years for it but now it is almost here. My car, a 2011 IE, 392 with manual transmission, has been chosen by Kenne Bell Superchargers as the ''test mule'' for the installation, fitment and tuning for a 2.8L supercharger. I am instructed to take the car to his company in Rancho Cucamonga California sometime in the early part of March. They will call a few days in advance for a heads up. I'm about 45 minutes away in Newport Beach.
They need to keep the car approximately 8 weeks for program writing, mock ups and dyno testing. The car has to perform flawlessly before the supercharger kit is released to the general public. The boost will be about 9 lbs and that should give me about 600 horsepower.
This is the right car to be the ''test mule'' because I have established a base line in stock condition for rear wheel horsepower from several dyno runs. Also I have raced my car in stock conditions in the 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, mile and the mile and one half. Next week I'm taking her to Willow Springs Raceway on the road course.
In future posts, I'll list my stock horsepower, stock elapsed times and speeds. I'll be posting pictures after it goes to the shop. Subscribe to this thread and you'll get the right story from start to finish. I won't be posting much until it goes to the shop in March. In exchange for this Kenne Bell has greatly reduced the price of the supercharger and all labor is free. In addition to this, any upgrades or improvements are done at no charge. All subsequent dyno runs are free of charge.
