Vortech belt fraying?? Help!

First pot on here guys and new owner to the challenger also.
I figured I'd get some expertise on here before I took my car in because in my town I don't have that many good and reliable shops.

So I just picked up a 2008 challenger srt8 a few days ago and drove it 1,000 miles home. After a day of driving the (vortech)supercharger belt was frayed really bad and I wasn't sure what to look for. Could it have been from out of alignment on the pulleys? Or just high rpms at times. It's got over 7500 miles on this belt from what I was told so it could have been worn out.

Hey, welcome to CT from Minneapolis. Can you possibly get a picture posted up here, that'll tell a lot about what's going on. Belts can fray from age, being out of alignment, and from bent pulley shafts. It might not hurt to call the person you bought it from and ask if them if it normally goes through belts every 1000 miles or so. Keep us posted!

If there is only 3/4 of the belt left I would think you would hear obvious signs of a bent shaft or pulley etc.
