Anyone go from BB glasspacks to a full catback?

I've got a 2010 RT 6 speed, and I replaced the resonators with Blastin Bobs perf glasspacks a few weeks ago. The stock exhaust had a good tone, but I wanted it louder. With the BB's glasspacks the exhaust tone at 1500-2000 RPM isn't what I want. It's loud which is ok, but basically just an obnoxious wall of low frequencies IMO. Anyone else experience this and switch to something they liked better? I'm thinking Solo, possibly with the j-pipe?

I could be wrong but sounds like you're talking about drone. Same zone I get it with my American Thunder cat-back.

Although I do get some drone in that zone, overall the exhaust is pretty loud and I get compliments all the time. It would be perfect if not for that bit of drone, so I can certainly deal with it.

Lucky for us, 6spds have more exhaust choices by being able to select our RPM range, and without the killer MDS.

For the price I love my exhaust, I've heard great things about zoomers, but haven't heard in person.

I was hesitant to call it drone because I thought that was more like when someone has a rear window rolled down and your eardrums thump, but ya, in general I guess drone is a good description. Over 2500 RPM and idling it sounds great. It's situations where I'm slowly accelerating (like a gradual uphill) in the 1800 rpm range that I don't like.

Here's hoping. I spoke with Steve at Solo and I'm going to get the Mach-X with the j-pipe. I should have just bought that in the first place but I was trying to save money. Lesson learned.

I love my Solo Mach-X. I had the BB glasspacks, but it was just too much.

Update - Have the Solo Mach-X w/j-pipe installed now. Huge difference. The drone is gone, now it's all good muscle car sounds coming out the back. Louder than stock and really roars when you get on it, but no drone when cruising...just what I was hoping for. Fit was perfect too.
