Hi guys,
have my SRT8 for over 1.5years now and it's getting better and better.
Went through many up and downs with wheels, tires, bushings, brakes, cooling, axles, differential, exhaust, Vortech, .....
but the point has been reached where "easy" add on modifications won't help further.
So to get this thing more handy and faster through corners as well as for acceleration or braking weight is the major component.
We already had some threads about weight reduction and I want to summarize it here.
Perhaps this thread here can be made sticky one day....
My starting point including a nearly empty tank of gas but with me in the car is:
front-left: 1247lbs --- front-right: 1229lbs
rear-left: 1020lbs --- rear-right: 945lbs
What options are already on the market:
Rear Seat Delete: Saves 31lbs

Front Bumper Support: This saves 22 lbs

Drag Pack Doors. Rumors say these will help with nearly 300lbs but as it seems you won't be able to mount windows. So not a real option for me.
Race seats - Stocks are 58lbs each. Race seats are 25lbs each. That's 66lbs less
Carbon fibre hood and trunk (e.g. Seibon Carbon) - heard the set is something like 30lbs lighter.
Smaller Race Battery will help with 15lbs
Custom made polyurethan/ macrolon windows for the rear and the sides. This stuff is not too expensive and it should help with 40lbs+ in total
Carpet and noise reduction stuff delete. I think we're talking about 30lbs
=> up to now where at ~235lbs without the drag pack doors and without loosing too much functionality.
Questions:
What else could be possible without loosing license and keeping this car a "daily driver"

Questions:
Does anybody have an idea how much the A/C systems weights? Is it ~45lbs?
- Does anybody have an idea how much the big SRT8 soundsystem including the subwoofer weights? Is it ~80lbs?
- Does anybody know who makes an alloy drive shaft?
- I'd love to get rid of the sunroof as it makes huge noise at 110mph+.
Heard it will help me with ~150lbs?
Why isn't there any vendor on the market doing some carbon fenders. I suppose this could help with another 25lbs in total
Who makes a replacement center console? Had this thing out when I installed the Hurst shifter and it was something like 35lbs!
