Cragar/Zoomers OR Corsa

I've got an 08 chally with long tube headers installed, and now i'm looking to get me a catback system, but its really getting frustrating. I've narrowed it down to either Corsa or Zoomers/Cragar. I know there have been several threads on this and I've seen plenty of youtube videos on both products, but I really have no idea on which would be best.

I've read great things about the corsa, and seems to be highly recommended for the challenger, giving it a great performance sound and apparently sees great gains with the kooks headers I already have installed

The Zoomers/Cragar on the other hand, I dunno so much about, but I've seen a couple of vids on youtube, and the sound you get is just awesome, sounds like a real muscle car, and it seems to be cheaper than the corsa, giving it about the same gains, so I've read. the only downside to this is drone, which maybe ok at first, but might get a little annoying later on.

Recommendations anyone ...?

The corsa vids sound like crap...and what the heck did they put on the side of the front fenders...ghetto vents?

Go to your muffler shop and just have the shop remove the old resonators, mufflers then have them install an exhaust which is a full 3" mandrel bend stainless steel catback, includes a 3" inlet/outlet magnaflow X-muffler for a great sound with un-surrpassed performance, Utilizes OEM exhaust tip..all parts and installed for less than $400...sounds awesome and no drone...

bwoodyperformance sells the exhaust for $650 but like i said your local shop can intall and build for less than $400...call my guy for any questions..(870) 772-6218

Depends on what kind of sound you want. If you want maximum loudness that you will also hear from the interior you go with Zoomers, if you want your sound to exit more from the rear where the exhaust is, you go with Corsa.

The Zoomers is loud and has what many describe as drone, but that is clearly defined by each individual as to what drone is. I had Zoomers on my car for 2 days and then sold them. To each his own but the best method is to try and hear each in person. Do you have any Challenger meet-ups by you?

unfortunately no. There are barely any challengers around here... it would be much easier for me to decide if i could hear them both in person, but unfortunately i cant do that. I don't mind loud, but ive had friends who have installed certain exhausts systems and can barely listen to music from the resonance..if thats the case then probably no.

As far as the difference...Corsa and Cragar are night and day. The Cragar makes a loud rumple at startup and has a full muscle car tone throughout the range. Some interior noise but no drone. The Corsa is pretty quiet at startup IMO just slighly louder than stock. It does rumble when you get on teh gas and is drone free.

Just depends what you want we have sold lots of both and I have heard both first hand. If you want more subdued go Corsa if you want more rumble go Cragar!

Here is a vid of the Cragar..

Here are links to more info in our store of both options:

The Cragar/Zoomers is my second favorite exhaust on the Challenger, my personal Fav is the MBRP!

I tend to be Opinionated when it comes to exhaust with 30 years experience building custom exhaust systems for anything with wheels I developed an ear for great exhaust systems.

Drone is something you want to be as far away from as possible, it does not affect what comes out the tail pipe it only affects interior noise or your ability to have a conversation or listen to the stereo at anything below mind blowing loud.

I sell them all but I have to suggest Corsa because there is more to exhaust then just what comes out the back.

Which is the better system?

Ted,

I posted these questions the other day, but have had no response. If you could respond, I'd be most appreciative.

On an SRT8 Challenger (6 speed). Which of these scenarios would give the
greater HP/performance gain?
  • Aftermarket Headers hooked up to the factory cat-back system.
  • Factory exhaust manifolds hooked up to high performance cat-back system.
I don't plan on taking it to the dragstrip. Just looking for some extra power and a nice muscular sound.

Thanks much!

John

You've already got the headers don't you? Assuming SRT I would guess the biggest change for HP gain would be replacing the cats with high flow.

Both the other options will add a bit over that... LT's will provide some more low end Tq over stock.....

Same with RT, but more gains from the headers as factory equip is less well designed..

All just IMO, I"d love to hear the answers from some venders who have worked with the combinations....
