Headers

ok guys i have a simple question for you all. I have 09 srt8 challenger, and i have heard that the stock headers are pretty good for flow, but i have been thinking of buying a set of pacesetters or kooks. so is replacing the stock ones a noticeable gain in power or just increase in sound? thanks

I have a set of Kooks long tubes with high flow cats and Corsa Xtreme exhaust. The sound is awesome, and yes I immediately noticed an increase in power. The increase was significant, don't know actual numbers but it was very noticeable.
I'v since added a ProCharger but it had great power when i added the Kooks.

Long tubes are a pain in the azz to put on! Pacesetters and Kooks are in two different categories as far as quality. More power would be noticed by doing a true cat delete. I purchased my Borla long tubes with cat delete for $1000, Mayland Speed had them at this price and Jeg's price matched. Good luck.

Just do a cat delete, and pick the exhaust you like in sound. you will gain plenty of sound and a STOP gain from removing them.
also and dyno tune it,or if you have DSP you can halfass it ..

save or use that cash for a cam..

exhuast is already done, just wondering about the headers now. do you know what the cost is on a cam install? does dodge dealership service techs do it? like i said i am stationed here in germany so it hard to do any kind of big engine mods. also does anyone know if the procharger will work well with a medium aggressive cam?

Get some longtubes. You won't regret it. I went with ARH w/catless mids and love it.

As far as a cam install, depends on the dealership. I work at a dodge dealership and do mods as such on request. Labor will vary, on average 7 hours for just the cam. If you want upgraded valve springs that's extra.

The headers mopar offers sounds great with a cam, can really hear it.

Germany... They have a lot of 60k loaders. Specialized vehicle maintenance, ANG

You need to go hang out at the auto hobby shop on base. I'm sure someone there can hook you up with somebody to help you install the cam. I did 20 years in the Air Force and the Auto Hobby Shop always had the tools and a knowledgeable individual to help me out. You won't learn unless you try. Just make sure you have someone check to ensure you have the cam installed/indexed correctly to the crank. After that it is just bolts and gaskets!
