You can't very well blame that on SP. When I was there, they were also using fender covers on every car in the shop. I never saw the shop at Lonestar.

HORT,

Really glad to see you're pleased with your ride after all the drama. I look forward to seeing you again, and hearing first hand about what you think of the Vortech and the tune.

But I don't see it as a Vortech issue other than just not having the tune ready. And all the customers I talk to I let them know this. Its going to need a custom tune as Vortech doesn't have a canned tune for the new 5.7s yet.

And anyone using Diablo software to tune has to thank Johan and Diablo as that is who designed and did the R&D for the LX/LC market
You know I'm a fan of BMC, Mikey. A properly functioning starter tune (heck you should be able to run it permenantly if one so choses for the conservative route) needs to be available with the full Vortech package. It'll help BMC sell more S/C's...

HemiSam

That in the end is Vortech's plan. They just do not have the canned tune ready yet

One thing the Hemi world has got it better than the Mustang world is the canned tunes with superchargers. Mustang S/C kits tunes' are 9 times out of 10 no where good enough to drive daily on...its a starter tune.

Now when Vortech releases their tune for the 5.7L 6 Speed cars, I bet its going to be a conservative tune, but good enough to drive daily on. We have over 20k miles on the Vortech provided tune with Kris' (SRT8U) Charger SRT8 with no issues, we installed the kit (very first production unit), loaded the tune....a year and a half and 20k miles later he is still running that tune and the car is still running just fine.

Mustangs do not have this option! With a S/C I tell all my customers they need to get it to a dyno and get a custom tune. So in the Hemi world that is a nice feature (at least with the Vortech's).

Now, Vortech is not advertising that the tune is ready to ship with the kits, if they were...that would be a whole different story. they are saying the tuning is not ready, just the hardware.

I can sell the hardware to customer's that want to get the custom tune, and in all cases the custom tune will have more power and will be dialed in much better than ANY canned tune.

the other thing people have to remember is...it took close to 3 years for tuning to be even available for the Chargers/300s/Magnums (before Challengers came out)...the new VVT 5.7L motor has only been around for a year! Its a whole different ballgame in comparison to the older 5.7s and the 6.1s. I know no one likes to hear this, but patience is a virtue haha The aftermarket will be there for the new 5.7L, but it just can't poof and be there (it would be nice though!! haha).

The good thing, after a couple of these 5.7Ls with a Vortech are tuned, tunes will be easier to write and easier to deal with. it just took a little longer to get there.

but in the end, like I said, vortech will be getting canned tunes for these kits, and yes, it will be easier to sell them (even though some customers choose not to get the tuner with the s/c kit and that means no tune provided), but on the other hand, Vortech is not trying to hide anything by not sending a tune with the kit, they will flat out say (like I say to everyone wanting a kit) it will need to be custom tuned since their tunes are not ready

You're too darn polite to argue with, Mikey...LOL!

Cheers,

the DRAMA HAS YET TO END:

i sincerely feel for you after this soap opera drama; HOWEVER, could we see the dyno sheet after what $12,000, $15,000? just a friendly guess...

HP, TQ, Fuel, Boost, Spark? a DynoJet will provide the info...

and just to be clear, i consider you to be a ground breaker... (that's a good; but expensive position)

kevin
