Octane!?!

Let me modify my question. I meant regarding High Horsepower engines in the range of 525hp+. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks!

Is there really no such thing as too much Octane? I'm looking into Torco Accelerator, what do you all think about this brand and the question posted? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

There is such a thing as too much Octane. If your engine is not tuned for high octane then you will receive no benefit from running higher octane fuel. In fact you may end up shortening the life of your Cats and 02 sensors by running Octane that is too high.

Torco is a great product. Been makeing race fuels for a long time.
Most ALL other so called octane boosters are total BS, providing hardly no increase in octane.
Many think going to the airport and buy 100 octane fuel they got something. You sure do, a fuel designed to operate in a motor that runs a Max of 3000 rpm at 1000s of ft in the air and thats the airplanes fuel design, not your cars.
I perfer a fuel made for what Im useing it for. High CR, boost, juice, high heat, lots timeing. Not what a stock motor needs.
There is such a thing as too much octane. It will slow you down, and get less mpg.

DarkHorse thanks but I was strictly speaking of engines modified for performance. Higher horsepower then that of stock engines i.e. superchargers and other forced induction means. But your absolutely right too much can harm your cats and O2 sensors. Thanks!
