I installed a Sprint Booster in my 2016-6 speed RT Shaker edition a few days ago... I have to say that this thing is absolutely amazing! It has made the car even funner - if that is a word - to drive. Who'd of thought there was a way to make these cars even more pleasurable to drive?....Not to mention the big ol grin you have to wipe off your face.
Besides being idiot proof to install, the cost to benefit ratio is nearly reachable for any budget.
If anyone is on the fence about installing one of these ..let me know - I will convince you.
chris
ps I have no affiliation with the company..I am just an enthusiastic user.
I put one on my '15 Scat about six months ago. I leave it on the most aggressive setting and this thing rocks. It makes the go pedal so sensitive that you really have to be careful. When I get caught out in the rain I usually switch it to the middle setting or even turn it off so I'm not always spinning the rear tires when shifting (6M). The car doesn't make any more power but it sure gives the feeling that a tune has been added. I can't hardly drive with this thing turned off. It's truly a night & day difference. One of my favorite mods with nothing to lose. Don't like it? Send it back & get your $$ back. I guarantee you'll keep!
I have one...Leave it on all the time and forget that its there.Had it for three years now.One day it felt like my car was not as responsive and realized I had accidentally turned it off.You will get a ton of nay sayers, even graphs to explain why it does not work.
The universal thing that you find is the ones that criticize and say it does not work do not have one!
It does exactly what they advertise, nothing more, nothing less.
I have a few questions for you guys with the S-B unit.
1- the OEM says "Some people don't like the fact that Sprint Booster reaches full throttle before full pedal travel:
have you ever had this happen? does it bother you?
2- When you use the control unit does changing red-green change the full pedal stop point referred to in question #1?
3- Installation for the Challenger is on the foot pedal or under the hood? Easy access?

You can't really tell.

Again it isn't noticeable. Your using less pedal but if you floor it, it feels the same.
3- Installation for the Challenger is on the foot pedal or under the hood? Easy access?
Installation is at the top of the pedal. You have to take a couple clips out then remove a cover. Then you just plug it in and go
4- how did you run the control switch?
The wire just clips onto the unit then I ran the wire up by the start button. It all stays concealed with an easy spot to put it. I'll take a pic and post it for you
Hey White R/T,
Form what I have gathered on the OEM website it is how fast the throttle plate opens.
They have a video and it shows the guy pushing the pedal quickly but the drive-by-wire opens the throttle plate in a fairly leisurely manner.
When I first took delivery I noticed if i blip the throttle quickly on my new SPS you got....nothing.....
there is a slight delay over the old cable linkages.
I do not like the D-B-W, it makes me feel disconnected to the car.
409 , so it removes the 'delay' ? I agree DBW takes some getting use to but I never saw it a something that needed fixing. the only delay I have noticed is if you mat the peddle off idle. if you footbrake there is no delay. thanks for the info
If you've always driven mechanical linkage cars, the first time you try revving a DBW car you'll notice a difference because the computer does your thinking for you. This product seems to just speed up the thinking process.
This sounds pretty interesting. I haven't done any mods to my '15 SPS, but do notice the "lag" at times with the throttle. Anybody know if this causes any warranty issues?
Can anyone say whether or not this device would be redundant if you already have throttle boost set with the Diablosport tuner? Doesn't it do the same thing?
EDIT......
DISREGARD... I just dug around and found a lot of information on this and it's not to be used with any tune.
So is this the same thing as InTune throttle boost? Also, according to SprintBooster website, "It doesn't matter if you have a Sport Mode, ECU software, or 'Chip' on your car, Sprint Booster works independently of other modifications"
Sounds like it would still work if it is different? Still, I'm not sure if I'm convinced that almost $300 is worth a more sensitive throttle. :/
Yes I agree...
One other thing is the way the Challenger is so smooth and stable, you really are going faster and accelerating faster than you realize.
you look at the speedo climb and it is almost always faster than what you think...
:surprise:
My 07 Mustang was a mess even with a tune, I can't say how many times I almost rear ended someone because you pushed and pushed and then "BANG" off like a rocket. My 15 Charger was good in sport but hesitated in normal. This 16, I don't really notice that much difference in sport mode and it does feel a bit sluggish.
My 13 R/T is a base model, I have a sport mode button, but it does not seem to feel any different. I already drive exclusively in Auto-stick mode anyway...
This module is like the burst you get when pushing the "Sport" button while at a steady pedal. I drive in sport mode just about all the time and pushing the button on this module will give a pronounced burst on top of the sport mode. It's say "sport mode on steroids". I typicall have this module set on its most aggressive stage and my Scat in sport mode. This make my acceleration very aggressive. Don't believe it? Snake oil? My imagination? Placebo affect? Buy one and try it. You'll see what I'm talking about. I was sceptical too but with a 30-day money back offer I figured what the heck. I'm glad I was open minded when I ordered. Very nice mod expecially when I have no intentions to spend big $$$ and "tune" my Scat. This along with sport mode does everything I want my car to do.
Installed mine the other day and decided to drive it a few times before forming an opinion. I was really on the fence with this because of the price. I wanted it know if it was opening quicker or just sooner. If it just just opened sooner then I guess I just figured hitting the pedal farther would do the same. To be honest I still can't tell what it does but consider me on the bandwagon. I don't care which it is, this feels like a whole different car. It seems to eliminate a lot of that flat spot you get just before it downshifts when rolling on the throttle. It just drops down and goes. I swore the car was faster but did 0-60 times identical to before. If someone in my area wants to check it out I would be willing to swap it into their car for a test drive. It only takes a few minutes. I can understand someone not wanting to spend $280 on something that seems to really not do much other than open the throttle sooner but I will say this. Mine won't be going back. My car is much more fun to drive now.
That's good information, thanks. From their website the Version 3 also has several advantages over Version 2, like more programmable modes, pedal lock, valet mode, etc.
