I'm having an issue with my heater when I put it to AUTO and the temperature is set to >70 degrees. When I do this, the vent switches to the feet and will not blow through the main dash vents. From here when I adjust the blowing speed (1-6 I think) it automatically takes it out of AUTO, which is correct, and on the display it shows that the system switches to the feet vents. Also, when it's in AUTO and 69 degrees the air comes through the dash vents but if I adjust the temp to around 72 or above the airflow just kind of stops and starts to blow from the low vents.
I've tried every possible scenario when switching to AUTO above 70 degrees. This includes going from cold to hot on AUTO >70, Defrost to AUTO >70, setting the temp to Hi with the dash vents on and switch to AUTO, Recirc on/off in various modes... no matter what I do when I set AUTO 70+ it blows from underneath.
Has anyone else experienced this and is this a possible actuator problem? I don't want to go in and have them tear the entire dash apart and cause more rattles than the few that have already surfaced. Unfortunately, I have always used AUTO and let the system make the adjustments for me for the right temps. Can't do that anymore now that its cooler.
