A/C not working, Instrument Cluster the cause?

So, my car (2010 R/T *points at signature*) is in the dealer today. I noticed last week that the AC wasn't working, didn't seem as though the Compressor was kicking on, no noticeable difference in sound or RPM blip when hitting the button. Everything else is functioning normally. Just got a call that the Instrument cluster is the cause. Didn't quiet get a chance to ask how that was possible as he asked if he could keep it overnight and I said i'd need a loaner or I have no way to get home. Has to get approval for that.

Anyone else ever have this issue? or anything else odd not work and the Instrument panel was the cause? Whats the deal with that? Some sort of Relay in there?

*Bump* Enterprise gave me a 2010 Charger SXT. Really miss my car. Hope they fix the problem today and I don't have to wait longer for them to order a new instrument cluster.

how long have you had the short throw shifter in the car? I know when I did my upgrade I did not connect one of the connectors behind the radio bezel very well and it caused both A/C motor and auto dim lights to act wacky.

removed bezel and reseated all connections fixed my problem

good luck

yes, quite possible, the cluster is a module, many functions are routed thru it

Didn't disconnect anything to install my short throw. Just pulled up the chrome trim/shift boot and unscrewed the old one, installed new one. pushed chrome trim/shift boot back down. Its been in there since about 2 weeks after i bought the car, no issues till now.

EDIT: Called the dealer at 2 to get a status. Said he'd call me back.. almost 4 now..

Supposed to get the car back today. Hopefully they will call me with good news. I'm sick of having to call them over and over. If its not ready today I'm going to be pissed!

Still no car today. Supposedly the cluster came in but theres a broken connector in my car. Asked me if any work had been done before. told em no. The only thing I've put in is my aeroforce gauge, which goes to the obd port. then he tried to say that's whats broken he thinks (whats that have to do with the instrument cluster??) . they're looking at schematics. *sigh* I am going to blast them so hard when chrysler calls for their little survey. this is ridiculous. I had to call 3 times today just to get the guy on the phone. 1 of which i was transfered wrong and then hung up on.
