Where are you from, what kind of weather do you get, is your car a daily driver?

My car was made in August of '08; I bought it in January of '09. I drive it in all conditions, about 5 days a week, and it gets parked outside. Tennessee sees temps ranging from below 0 - 100+, and this year is the coldest winter on record in 30 years. No cracks yet. I wonder if quality of the panels declined in later manufacturing, or I'm just lucky?

Hey... My car was also built in August and I bought in Feb but in Ohio. Mine is parked in a garage and I have 13,000 miles on mine. It is only not driven in extreme winter. My drivers side one is cracked and the passengers side looks like it is buldging and ready to crack. I will be taking it into the dealership for a look at it Saturday. I guess I am UNLUCKY.... A buddy of mines R/T he also bought last Feb does not have any cracks but it is garaged most of the winter.

Out of curiousity, has anyone tried these? If so, is the plastic different and are these having problems also?

I got front and rear drivers side. The passenger side looks ready to bust any day now.

This may be an option once the warranty runs out.

Just to add to the documentation: My 08 SRT 500 has cracks in the panels too. Front and back passenger side and back on the driver's side. Took her down to the dealership yesterday for a speaker change and mentioned the cracks. They quickly ordered new panels and will call when they are in and painted.

The car's been driven in everything from +40C to -40C. That's what you get living in Calgary and heading to Palm Springs for holiday...

Why are they painting your Rocker Panels? Is there a new part number on your rockers. The sets that I have seen are finished matte black. Keep us filled in.

I went to the dealer to set up an appointment and they acted like they never heard of it. The body shop guy said that he had seen it before. I went to the parts department to see if it was in stock and he said no they had to be ordered. I went back to the service guy and told him that they were not in stock. He said go back over and have them ordered. If I did not do this it would have been two trips to the dealer. I checked the 6 Challenger's on the lot and no crack So I bring it to the dealer and tell them that I saw on the Challenger forum about the power sterring issue. They did not know what I was talking about. She said what was the symptom I was talking about. I told her the sterring wheel does not come back to center in the cold weather. She wrote it on the service order and guess what? The parts have to be ordered. Well I guess the moral to this is check to see if the parts are there before you bring in the car. Well the car goes back in the garage till spring or when the dealer calls and says the parts are in. I do say that Mt Emphrim Dodge has been very good to me so far. Also when thry brought the car inside there were about 4 guys in suit jackets inspecting the car. I guess they must have heard something!
