Issued started about 2 months ago, usually on a hot soak restart, can't pull put of gear, have to violently jerk the shifter in order to get out
At first only happened rarely, than more and more,
Pulled the transmission and did the cleaning and grease, replace the six bolts, replace a shift plate, nothing, if anything got worst, now started to do while driving
Replace hurst shifter, nothing, same
Star at Chrysler no clue, tremec " it's the clutch"
How can it be the clutch, shifts perfect, never grinds, never a hints of an issue until it does it, no unusual feeling of any sort
Shop foreman pulls the trans, meticulously disassembles, not a friggin thing to be found.........
Can't find a dam thing wrong, fluid is perfect, synchros, shift mechanism, nothing, detent, bearings, nothing, the guts are so perfect a brand new one probably doesn't look any better
Shop foreman, transmission specialist, field service engineer, cannot find a thing wrong,
New transmission will be here Tuesday, can't wait to get the car back
Was so pissed at this thing, was that closed to going home with a brand new jazz blue srt, still not sure why I didn't do it
Happens to us too, we have issues too and go thru the nightmares too!!!
Luke

Hate to hear about that, hopefully the new trans will fix the issue... BTW, keep up the great work that you do. Look forward to buying from ya'll again.

Just a wild guess, but this does remind me of an issue I had with a manual transmission F250. Problem was an internal leak in the hydraulic clutch cylinder, everything worked fine at start up but things would leak down just right in stop and go traffic after several repeated presses of the clutch, then it would get hard to shift.

Dodge builds the car and does not support it afterwards or tells you the problem you are experiencing is normal and your vehicle is basic transportation which fits the intended purpose of Chrysler Corp.
Yeah they called my SRT8 basic transportation in my arbitration hearing.
I will say what you experienced is a trouble which we can all see but what you did not experience is the crap service the majority of dealers give including Chrysler. I am sure anyone else with this problem would not be getting a new transmission so quick (if at all) and would not be having it pulled numerous times for a look see. Dealers do not work like that and what you experienced is the perk of being a senior manager at your store.
But, keep us posted Luke on what you see with the new transmission.

agreed that i can pull strings and make sht happen really fast, however most good dealers do it all the time for customers, unfortunatelly, there is a huge disparity between the great/good dealers and the ones that are not so good.....and that really hurts Chrysler in my opinion, however Chrysler doesnt have a monopoly on stupid dealers
we have a customer with a 2013 Wrangler with an engine issue, lower end noise, 3 calls and a conference call, we have a brand new assembly pulled off the line and now sitting in the bay waiting to be replaced monday.....
we are not perfect we screw up stuff all the time, the difference in my opinion is we stand up and get it done, we dont shy away from issues and we take ownership

X2, worth a check no? No releasing is the big problem of these dble-plate clutches, and if you mechs haven't worked on Vipers much they have no real experience as that's the sole reason that RevoTech came up with that original Star Case back in 09, but you have to FLOOR the clutch especially on 2nd gear why Ike may have the fix, I would CHANGE the throw out bearing when putting in that new tranny at least.

Can't ask for anything more than that! I'm curious what the problem is, if you ever find out. Had mine not want to come out of gear once, about 20,000 miles ago, with the factory shifter. No issues since. What happened to the first trans?
We looked at the clutch, we also took a good look at the hydraulic system, if that was the problem, we wouldnt have the issue with the engine off sitting still, e brake released, at least not in my mind, also if we had a clutch issues or hydraulic issue, we would have other symptoms, grinding harsh engagement, something,

And I wish I lived by your store because I would be a customer for sure!! However, I am stuck in NJ with not a good dealer in sight. The only one that could possibly past muster was Buhler Dodge who worked on my SRT10. They have dropped Dodge from their lineup and moved it to a store too far away that makes it sensible for me to get service there.
I really appreciate the fact you are posting as a customer and as an insider so we can see what this issue is with your tranny.
