Hey guys,
I saw another recent post regarding something very similar, but this issue is simply when in Park during cold starts.
The car is a 2015 6.4L Scat Pack w/ 1k mi. And the driver is a car noob. I figure both are important...
When cold starting (and doing the seatbelt chime disable trick I read on here), I noticed that after starting, with a temp of 65º outside, the car/chassis began to rock pretty heavily as if a Cali earthquake was rolling on. The RPMs were probably 650's and temp gauge on cluster read about 1/8 from bottom.
This probably went on for 1-3minutes and literally felt side to side rocking, making me a bit nervous. I turned off the air (was on auto) and it continued. I put the car in drive with foot on brake the whole time and no shaking at all, back in park and it did its shaking again.
I turned off and came back in about 5 mins to check battery levels while off (battery voltage was bouncing rapidly between 14.4-14.8 while in the voltage menu as I was checking everything) and it seemed fine at 12.5v.
Starting second time, I sat and waited, and no shaking. Temp was around 1/4 and then after a minute jumped to 1/2.
I'm so, so, so hoping this is normal. No clinks or clanks. Just a ton of white smoke and shaking to and fro. Just cold start stuff?
