A very cold ride

Well this morning I was getting ready for work I went to take my dog out and start my car so it would be warmed up by the time I was done getting ready. After finishing my breakfast and telling my wife by, I went out to get in my car and it was cold. So I checked all my setting and they where all correct for the heater to be running full blast, but I thought maybe it was just taking awhile to warm up so I take off. Halfway to work I realize it's still cold so I change the direction of the air to get the hot air blowing on my freezing hands and what do you know that only made the situation worse because the air was ice cold. so I shut the vehicle off, no luck. then I try changing setting and pushing buttons, still no luck. So when I got to work I took it to my service writer and showed him and it surprised him how cold the air was. Oh well I just got to sit back and see what happens. Any one else experience this?

It could be a couple of items:
>hot water control valve malfunction
>cabin temp sensor (thermostat)
>plenum temp sensor (if Chrysler uses these)
>HVAC control panel

Well it started working by the time the tech looked at it so we'll see if this happens again.

Funny, I had exactly the same thing happen to me this week. Did you have the drivers side door open for a while before starting the car? I had mine open in the garage (taking the garbage out) before I got in and drove away. 10 minutes later I realized the air in the car was still freezing, even though the engine temp was normal. When I got into the car to drive home for lunch 4 hours later, all was good and it was blowing warm air in the car again.
