bubbling warping black plastic grille / tail light surrounds

I have read a few time son this board memebers havign the balack plastic that surrounds the rear tail lights and the grille ( the flat black piece that lies on the bumper). My local dealer denied this warranty claim stating they all do it. I intend to push this a bit, as the bubbles appear to be separation on the laminate from the underlying plastic which is a defect. Anyhow, since "they all do it" I'm trying to get a feel for how true that is. My 11 R/T didn't have it - but it was only 4 months old.

Thanks

"They all do that" and "It's Normal" is an excuse for the dealership that does not what to mess with warranty claims that don't make them money. Don't let anyone tell you that they don't make money on warranty claims..... Yes there are some that they will lose on if a higher paid tech is working on it.

Bull****............they do not "all" do it. Besides, if they all do it then it would be a definite warranty claim as it is a defective part.............turn that one back on the dealership idiot.

Either switch dealerships or go in to the dealership you are working with and talk only with the service manager.

BTW - the dealership cannot deny a claim. They have to submit all warranty claims to Chrysler/Dodge. It is up to Chrysler/Dodge to approve or deny a claim.

Yep agree 100% which is why I'm getting my ducks in row to escalate this. I will go to another dealership, and if I get a similar answer its escalation time. It was the service manager that looked at it!

We sell and service a lot of Challengers, never seen the issue, I would go back to the dealer and discuss the issue with management, that item falls under digital imaging, it's not even the dealership decision

Mine apparently isn't part of the "all that do it". Just a FYI, there was a recall related to bubbling up of the black portion of the grill surround on the 2009 Challengers. I had a 2009 and it did it. Dealership took care of it no problem.

First I've heard of a problem on the back. I'd call up the Chrysler rep for your area. My thinking is when a dealer says "they all do that" then that means it is definitely a warranty issue.

Tell the dealer to suck it and fix the damn thing!!!!! If they say its normal again thats just BS. By the way, it says it pays an hour............DO NOT expect the tech to be done with this in an hour. Its really not that easy. At least not that easy to do it the right way. I hated doing these things with a passion!!!
