I have a 2014 Midnight Blue challenger and I have been going back and forth on whether to add decals or not. Seeing the darkness of the blue not sure if I should go with a white or gun metal grey decal. Thoughts? Thank you!
With the Jazz Blue color, either a dark gray (gunmetal, charcoal) will show up more than matte black. White could work, but it will be a lot more contrast of course.
I have Gloss Metallic Charcoal on my Jazz Blue and think it looks perfect. Especially out in bright sunlight, when you see the Pearl in the blue, you really see the Metallic in the stripes too. The color that I used is Avery Metallic Charcoal, it kind of has a bronze hue to it.

Yes aftermarket, I'll send you a PM on them. I had Bright Metallic Silver at first, but I thought they were too bright, in bright sun they almost looked chrome, so after about a year, I took those off and replaced them with the Charcoal stripes. These compliment perfectly in my opinion.
....Hemi hockey sticks on rear quarter panel (grey, white, silver, black) and whisker (war) stripes on cowl/front quarters really look good on these cars.
Now tell me guys. Is the jazz blue on challenger49guy's car the same as rajunz? I see they are both jazz blue, but challenger49guy's is a 15. It looks darker in the photo. Is it just the lighting?
take a look at mine (stripes are like pizza,,everybody is got different taste).buy quality and make sure that u get 3M stripes.the cheap stuff cracks and peals.and be careful with wax.make good choices
i have the jazz blue.on a cloudy day it looks black or a flat dark blue.in the sun its totally different.got a lot of flake in the paint.its just as hard to keep clean but i love it
opinions and suggestions welcome and encouraged. Recently installed the stripe extensions from RG. They are not a good color match to the factory matt black and the smaller stripe is thinner than the factory one. Considering removal of all stripes and going with a 70's TA style horizontal set. Just not sure what to do, Love my car but I just can not make up my mind on the current configuration given the quality of the extensions.
I think the darker color cars look great w/ darker stripes. I've seen a few black challengers w/ white stripes, to me (opinion) the contrast is WAY too different. With the color you have, you can get away with a few different colors. Hell, I've even seen one the same color as yours with RED stripes. That was a little odd.
Put red ones on my Billet R/T, looked great. They were a lot darker in person than in my sig pic. Since removed since I want to go for the "sleek" look again.
If you've got some chops w/ photoshop, try a few different combos out. Google Image search is good too
Since my wife is a whiz with a vinyl plotter, I'm going to go with the retro R/T trunk band straight across. If it looks stupid, I can always peel it off. I ordered 3M auto grade stuff and I can't wait to see what this will look like!
Well we finally got around to it. I bought some 3M 1080 Wrap Satin Vinyl to do the rear of my car. My wife had no pattern to follow so she made a bunch of measurements on the car and we hoped for the best. Finally just cut it and she installed it tonight with my help. (Actually, I just ran in the house to get more beer)
It was a little tricky and may not be absolutely factory perfect but I like it and she did a great job. I will be putting the quarter panel extensions on tomorrow since we ran out of time...and beer. Here is our final product.
