How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

First off big thanks to BFxenon.com for the headlights! I would reccomend him to anyone on the forum and the kit seemed of high quality.

Step 1: Remove the panels covering the headlights, the simply just pop right off.

Step 2: Remove the original headlight bulb by simply twisting and pulling out. And removing the plug for each bulb. Install the HID bulb by putting it in and twisting the opposite way.

Step 3: Now this gets a lil more complicated but I have figured it out for you guys. The + and - wires for the HIDs need to be spliced into the headlight plug.
You will need to strip the wire shielding back, be careful not to cut the wire. Once this is done, wrap your + or - wire around the exposed wire. For the passenger side headlight, the + wire is the White/Brown wire and the - wire is the Black/Green wire. For the drivers side headlight the + wire is White/Blue and the - wire is Black/Blue Either way the middle wire is the negative, if you do the wrong wire you will only get your lights when your brights are on. After this is done wrap it up in electrical tape.

Step 4: Plug in the plugs for the Ballasts and find a place to mount them. I choose the metal bar right next to the radiator and simply used zip ties to hold in place.

Step 7: Test your lights to make sure they work, and then put your covers back on and your done!

electrical tape??? never , you should have soldered the wires then used shrink wrap to do the job. this way water wont get into your splices

Your talking to a certified installer here. I did not want to cut the stock harness, and it is impossible to get heat shrink on with out cutting it. Water will not get to it and even if it did it will not penetrate several layers of tape. Also the wires were soldered. So next time use some logic before trying to criticize me.

Re: How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

Hi, I have a question about the install, does the original headlight plug harness splice to wires going to the HID ballest, and does the ballest have a harness that goes to the new HID bulbs? Also what was the approximate cost of the kit? Thanks.

Have you tested the lights at night? I need to see what the cost of these are. Nice writeup.

Kits retail for $189 but there is a 15% Challengertalk discount available...
PM for more info.

Re: How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

A very noticable difference! I actually got a good test with them tonight, it has been pouring all night and my car is extremely dark and hard to see out of (5% tint) and the HIDs helped a ton more than the halogens.
