I noticed a difference from my Acura's headlights to the Challenger's. Looks like I'll be doing the same install.

In your post you did not say you soldered the wires , so anyone reading it would just assume that you didn't( like i did ) . I just wanted to let others know that if your going to splice wires you should solder them for quality and long term operation . As for shrink wrap you could have stripped the wire insulation off to what you needed spliced the new wire in ,then fold the main wire over in half . Solder it up , slide the shrink wrap tube over the top of the splice and have all three ends come out the bottom end of the shrink wrap . Once heated up the top end with no wires out of it would seal up and so would the bottom with the the 3 wires out of it sealing it up from the elements . No tape needed .

Re: How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

Hey guys,

We have made an improvement to the kit and there is no soldering required at all. It is now 100% plug and play.

SRT D1S Bulb:
BFXenon.com D1S HID Bulb - 8000K Challenger HID lights

R/T and SE H13 bulb:
BFXenon.com H13 series H.I.D. light kit - 8000K

Fog Light H10 / 9145 Bulbs:
BFXenon.com H10 series H.I.D. light kit - 8000K

Anti-Flicker Device for any aftermarket ballast required HID kit (not included in kit):
BFXenon.com - Bright Freakin Xenon HID lights

What about projectors? Don't xenon replacement bulbs distribute light very unevenly without having an adaquate projector? Honestly I'd rather find the HID replacements lights if I had an SE.

Re: How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

What about projectors?? Projectors do offerer a sharper beam of light than the factory composite housing... the factory housings have reflectors that direct light in different direstions instead of directly out front. That is why there is no defigned cut off of the light beam on aftermarket kits, like there is on the projection lights.

The HID replacement kit that we offer is 300% brighter than a factory halogen bulb and that is more than sufficient for a beam of light...

So honestly BF, what would you suggest... Factory HID on my r/t or going with the kit. Please compare and contrast for me to make the decision easier. Albeit the price difference, what else is different

Re: How To: Install HID Headlights on a Challenger SE

Well, I would say the most efficient lighting source would be factory, due to the D.O.T. and factory compliance regulations.

I have done more 8000K conversions on Factory HID lights than retrofits for the R/Ts and the SEs’. The factory HID replacement bulbs MSRP for $300+ ea. and being able to get, almost 100%, the same amount of light for a fraction of the price is more than my recommendation!

Hopefully that was a good enough answer for you?? If you are interested in giving my lights a shot I would be more than happy to work with you! As you can tell I greatly support the LX / Mopar communities and would love the have another happy supporter on our side!
