Just wanted to share these images with you guys. They are oracle ColorSHIFT. The only disadvantage is that I have to get out of the vehicle to change the color/ turn them off since the sensor it's located by the grill. You can fix this if you purchase the WIFI device to control them with your smart phone, but it's an additional expense ? I think it's over 150 bucks :/
Those look fantastic! Did you do the install yourself? Secondly what type are those? Plasma? Smd? If you did install them how bad was it? Thank you in advance
Is there any reputable shops that do the install for these? I can do just about anything, just not comfortable splitting these expensive headlights apart. The OP's car looks very, very cool with this done. Nice job!
Don't be afraid of cutting the headlights. It's extremely easy and impossible to notice unless you have the hood up and the plastic trim pieces near the hood latch removed. In other words no one will ever notice unless you take your car apart and point it out to them. Use decent sealant and you'll have no problems.
Thanks. I really haven't dug into this or done a through search yet, so tell me to use the search button if so inclined. Is there a good step-by-step thread somewhere that illustrates well how this is done? Thanks.
Can't you connect the power supply to the same switched power supply that powers the headlights, or the running lights? Or even a switched power supply that comes on with your ignition? That way you wouldn't have to turn them on and off from outside your car
Well for one. Depending on what color they are , you will be inviting a ticket as most states will only let you use these for times when you are not driving on the street , so just for that reason alone I think it would be better to be able to shut them off , but as with everything else this is just my opinion ,
No, A good friend of mine helped me with the installation. They are LED's. I think it would've been better if the box (adaptor) along with the sensor were in the inside.LOL
I'm from Tyler Tx and apperantly these lights are illegal but I have friends that work in the PD and they informed me that as longest I don't have them switching colors while I'm driving I should be OK, oh and one more thing red and blue are not allowed while I'm on the road. Fair enough.
When I have my HIDS on at night I change the LED color to light blue similar to the 6k in HID so That way it won't look like a rainbow.
HA! Texas. Yeah, driving with these on in any color other than white will certainly scream "PULL ME OVER!!" Female or not DPS won't allow any slack about it. You get stopped by them and a citation you will receive. This is likely why it's set up to switch on or off from outside the vehicle. Really looks fantastic though; kudos and thanks for showing it off.:wink3:
I'd be interested in a bright white as the '15/'16 DRL's don't seem bright white enough to me. I guess the engineers where going for a fire and ice look with the amber DRL's on.
