R/T Vintage Stripes and Hood

Question: I see people doing the hood stripe with the R/T on the new Challengers. My question is did ALL vintage R/Ts have the hood decal done as well? I see a few with just R/T on the hood like this:

http://image.moparmusclemagazine.com...umper_view.jpg

Which is true to the orig 71 R/T?
1- Full black Hood Stripe with R/T
2- Just the R/T letters
3- Nothing but the duel side striping??
4- Shaker hood?

Looking for help from the purists out there...Not to confuxe any of this with the T/A styles

Mopar had any number of stripe packages. I think it all depended on which one you ordered. I don't think the bumblebee option carried over to 1971, but not positive on that. R/T Stripes were different. In '70, they followed the body line and had a small "R/T" in the middle. In '71, they were much larger, along the lines of the T/A stripe, with the letters "R/T" ending behind the rear glass.

I think you could also get the blackout sticker on the snorkel hood with or without the "R/T" letters.

Thanks...Do you think they ever really did both the side duel "classic stripes" and the hood stripe together? I am thinking it might be over the top anyway. I am starting with the side stripes...I would like a shaker down the road.

I've seen the solid blackout stripe and body line side stripe on a 1970 car (that was restored correctly). The body line stripe cars didn't have R/T fender emblems, but had the "R/T" in the decal where the emblem would go. The R/T in the solid stripe didn't show up until 1971 when the "D O D G E" letters came off. It could be had as the R/T on the hood by itself, or it could be the blacked out stripe with the R/T cut out.

Yes, the hood blackout (coded V21) was available with the side body stripes for both 70 and 71. I think they look best combined when the side stripes are some color other than black (hood stripe was only available in flat black).

I decided to go with what is currently available from Mopar but bought them from Rider Graphix. I went with the dual hood stripes, and the 71 side stripes that are coming on the new 09 Classics. Pics attached

DMT864, You have exactly what I want to do. Even the spoiler. However, You must have added a new new trunk? How did you get rid or the holes? I am starting with side stripes but may add the hood as well. I am on the fence right now. Hopefully we are far enough apart we wont detract from one another. I like your taste. I really want the wing spoiler. How did you do yours? thanks to all you guys for the help on the stripes. It is amazing how much you could customize cars back in the 70s. every little option could be tweaked...now it is down two about 10 options, and people still cant get their cars built for crying out loud...

Not to worry where I'm NH and you're in Western NY I don't think our paths will cross much, but it would be cool to see them together wjhen you're done. I've only seen one other DWB. As far as the trunk, I bit the bullet and bought a new trunck lid and had it painted to put the wing on. I figured that it wasn't much more than having the hloes in the stock lid filled. I have a friend who has a body shop so I get a great price. The whole thing including the wing was about $900. I have the old trunk lid and spoiler safely store for the day I'm forced to sell it. (maybe in my 80's?)

Again, thanks! That is what I would like to do. Do you have MOPAR part numbers for the trunk and spoiler? Does the paint Match up well?
