Stripes....Not so sure anymore

I don't know, after having the car striped, i feel like i accomplished a big feat, it looks good but i am kind of really missing the sleek straight up blacked out look.

Anyone else feel/felt this way?

Here's my .2 cents. The new Challenger is a classy, big, adult car in a world full of smaller, striped up kids cars, LOL.

My feeling is our cars look great without stripes. Either way, I guess you can't go wrong. Sometimes I think it depends on who the owner is more so than the car. Make sense?

i completely agree. Im getting my tints on, then i'll decide. I just think of all the hours i put into it but thats ok! i can say i have striped a car and it may not be for me. i only paid 200 for the stripes and install tools, tools i get to keep so im out 170. So be it! Taking them off....thats gotta be a challenge and a half

I removed the CF-type stripe from mine is it wasn't too bad at all. Just peeled while applying heat.

I'm in the same boat as you, I love the sleek, clean black look... but also love the racing stripes... Maybe a different type of stripe is what you need? Cuda, superbee, etc

I agree with you because I really like both scenarios on mine. I wish I had two Challengers so I can have one with stripes and one without side stripes. I have been receiving so many compliments on the stripes. This is a good problem to have so no complaints.

I agree with the big, sleek, modern car comment. I wanted mine to be sans stripes for that reason.

This car looks naked without some sort of stripe. Gives that classic hi hoe muscle car look.

I appreciate both the striped and stripe-less looks, but it depends on the type of stripes. I love the Classic side stripes and the old-school hood stripes that follow the contour of the hood, but not so much the twin rally stripes or the the hood-to-fender stripes.

I really like the way the the red Classic stripes add some color to my otherwise all black car. They give it a different shape altogether, I think.

I figure if they get worn or faded at some point, off they come and I'll go stripe-less for a whole new cool look.

Either way, you can't beat the look of a Challenger.

stripe removal ugh!

Mine came with metallic silver aftermarket stripes on hood & sides. They had some environmental(after only 2yrs old) "fading"& "spotting" (i.e looked like crap) I (with the help of a professional friend /bodyshop) removed the hood stripes only. What a freakin nightmare!. It took the 2 of us 8 hours of painstaking labor to get them off without damage.Tried spray on softers (several)- didnt budge. tried the heatgun & peel -hood cools down way too quick (remember it's ALUMINUM!) could only get fingernail size peices off.Tried extreme heat (infrared lamps) just a word of caution ...The hood is ALUMINUM! it swelled up like 2 inches (very scary!) .Finally took a speical 3M rubber wheel on a grinder to "burn" then off (also very scary!) with slow going & re-glazing and buffing out complete hood -finally got the job done. All in all probably almost $100 in materials alone plus mucho labor to remove something it probably took some idiot 30 minutes to put on!.My advice before you do it think twice because you probably live with them forever. Also they have a finite lifespan ...I think I read even premium 3M vinyl only lasts 3-5 years.just food for thought!

I love the look both with and without the stripe....but in a world of black challengers getting my stripe really set the car off from every other one on the road.
