Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

I like the look of Centerline's AutoDrag wheels, but I am afraid that they will negatively impact brake cooling. Any ideas?

That could be an issue if you plan on tearing up the corners.

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

Thanks for the replies. Has anyone run these wheels on a car personally? I am sure that one plus with these wheels would be eliminating the brake dust problems that many people are having.

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

those would be great for the dust issue, however your stopping power is greatly reduced

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

I'd take the performance hit for those bad-ass wheels.

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

They're called drag wheels for a reason... they're made for the drag strip. Running them on the street could cause brake fade problems due to heat build-up. I wouldn't recommend them for the street for that reason.

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

I went and looked at Centerline at Centerline Wheels. They have some really decent wheels at frankly cheap prices, so I'd shop around a bit there and find something with better cooling. Search under 'Dodge Magnum', look at the 'overstock' wheels- as low as $169 each for 24 lb 2 piece forged 20's.

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

Those are some good prices on forged wheels. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Will a solid wheel affect brake cooling?

I've run centerlines before and had no adverse effect towards braking unless your planning on running a road course or the such. I actually looked at the centerline wheels also,,,, I'd love to have some mid 80's centerline racing wheels if they only made them in 18s they beat any spoke wheel hands down in my book.
