It's really not considering the original Challenger weighed 3800 with a Hemi, and was a full second slower 0-60 and had a top speed of about 145. It handled worse than a pickup truck does now. Technology is wonderful stuff!!

We just think those oldies were SO great.

I had an ACR Neon that was faster than my '67 GTO I had in high school!!!!!

4100# is not going to cut it!!! Why are all these new cars such pigs with all the composite technology we have available? 4.5 sec 0 to 60 is just 4 tenths quicker than my SRT 4 goes and gets 25MPG in town. I sure hope they will listen an put a solid rear in because with all that weight a half shaft won't live at the drags. I don't know about the rest of you but this car isn't sounding like the salvation of the rear wheel drive muscle car.

Well, I believe I read that the composite was just for the Concept and might/would really jack up cost/price :Although I really like the looks of the Black Carbon Fiber in exposed form !!!Sure it might lighten the load ; what 500lbs vs.zinc-coated metal...[or whatever type of metal is used these days ?];but the way things are sounding at DCX they may not be thinking of weight ! I'd kind of rather the steering wheel be 'tweaked' closer to one of the originals aka finger-tip control. I've said this before..even wrote Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press who forwarded to DCX !

This is an excellent reproduction of the Tuff steering wheel. Features stainless steel spokes with premium stitched leather grip. It is the same diameter as original (14-1/8").P.S. as most can see this wheel is much safer than the one on the 2006 Concept..as the slits look precarious ;as in fingers getting stuck in the wrong place .at wrong time !!

Yea but it will it support an airbag. If not, then I can't see it making production. Your always welcome to change what you want on "your" car.

Ahhh, well not that repro one. What about the Concept's? The center of that steering wheel looks smallish to have a airbag in it.Does anyone know if the Concept's has a bag? Mainly, I'm concerned with the 3 fingertip control spokes. I had that one in my first Challenger .

I thought they had recently changed the "rules" for measuring and reporting horsepower. That's why the new Civic Si is listed at 197 instead of 200. They standardized some things and left less room for manufacturer "lowballing."

I also read, when they did that, that a lot of the US manufacturers had to list their vehicles at higher numbers, while a lot of the asian manufacturers had to lower their listed numbers.

Well, just who is/are 'they' ? Just who do "they" think they are; telling automakers how to sneakily try to outsmart their competition { or the cops ]???? ?
