To me, this vehicle looks a little more compact than the concept. That's good. Maybe it's just the photo quality. Also, the changes to the grill and rear end are awesome! The cross hairs added nothing to this car. The rear also seems more retro-looking.
All in all, this is shaping up to be a tremendous hit for Chrysler!

I am excited to see these. I just saw the concept again yesterday (Sunday) at the TX State Fair and again I wondered about the taillight (as well as other features) that would remain on the production model.
They have done it justice. (If these are true production pics, which I think they are) The concept Camaro was at the fair as well. It looks very nice in person also but the Camaro takes on a more new tech feel than a retro style that the Challenger puts out.
My money and heart is staying with Dodge.

"Hey hey I want to be a rock star"
I forget where I saw it, but someone had a diagram of the concept vs production car. the production car IS a bit more compact. I LOVE IT! Can't wait to get one!
I noticed on a recent spy shot taken of a mule somewhere in Michigan that the inner lights turned amber and it looked like the six shooter was missing. This model looks like the six shooter is intact and the lights remain clear.
Please let that be so. The six shooter was one of my favorite aspects of the concept. It adds so much character to a car that is, hands down, one of the finest looking machines that will take up space in my garage!
If these new photos do, indeed, depict a near-production Challenger, then it's only a matter of months before the first big publicity spreads come out in Car & Driver, Automobile Magazine, etc. When that happens, ladies and gentlemen, the *^%*)*&& is gonna hit the fan! The demand for this car will be so great by next Spring, it will be unbelieveable. Every guy over the age of 40 (and a bunch of guys under 40!) will be lusting after the new Challenger.
Let's face it: This is the first REAL muscle car since the early 1970s! Just think about that fact for a second. The new Mustang is great, but really, it's a pony car (and largely a chick car) -- not a muscle car. The new Charger has the horses, but the Challenger takes it a step forward with the correct retro looks, too.
As Rob Wolf, publisher of Mopar Collector Guide, said in his column this month: "The Mopar world is about to change in ways we can't yet imagine!"
Buckle your seat belts.
