2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

The two-tone 2009 Dodge Challenger that was spotted in Detroit earlier this month, was spotted in San Diego, CA undergoing testing on mountainous roads. It was closely followed by Dodge chase vehicles complete with roof antennas.

Hopefully, this means that the new Challenger will handle as well as it accelerates!

Here are some new spy shots of what is probably the production model. They were taken by John Musolini at an Ohio rest stop along I-75 yesterday. Those mirrors look awful big!

Just three more months until the official unveiling! Has it already been two years since those first hazy spy photos made it's way onto the Internet?

I noticed that there are two different challengers on that page... One has a blue liscence plate and the other has a white one..... these pictures seem more like teaser pics than spy shots.

They also look to me to be really "low" compared to earlier shots.... so these are most likely SRT versions.

They probably are SRT versions. All 5,000 of the 2008 Challengers will be SRTs.

If you look at picture # 2 in reference as to the height of the car vs the two guys standing beside the Challenger, the roof of the car seems to be very high and the car looks very tall!

Is it an optical illusion or is the car very tall ?

The new Challenger is tall- much more than its 1970 predecessor.

According to the specs on the concept car, it is 57" tall. That, of couse, is the SRT version. The other versions of the Challenger will probably be even taller. For comparision, the height of a Mustang GT is 54.5".
