Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

GM has already stated that the production Camaro's roof will be (slightly) higher than the concept's.

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

Yes...but if I remember well ...around one inch higher!!! Nobody will be able to tell or see the difference without a measuring tape! To start with, the concept Challenger was already taller than the CAMARO concept. However, the jury is still out and I will wait to see both the production CHALLENGER and the production CAMARO "in flesh", sit in and drive both before deciding what makes me more happy. I want to buy a CHALLENGER, but the ball is in Chrysler's court!

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

I do have to say that after watching the Transformer movie, it perked my interest in the 09 Camaro, but as long as Dodge builds this right, I'm going with the Challenger.

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

Another teaser from cheers and gears.....

Well today coming back to work from lunch, I saw a silver Challenger with some camo on it going the other way. I quickly pulled a u turn in the middle of Opdyke and chased it down! So I finally catch up with him, and we pull up first to the light together. I was taking some pics on my camera phone and the guys inside didn't look too happy about it, but when I threw them a rev their expressions changed. The two guys in it both smiled, and I was like YEAH IM GONNA RACE THE CHALLENGER!! The light turned green, and we both rolled into the throttle and I was getting ready to really gun it but the Challenger let off

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

Great sneaky pics!

So, what is the reason they drive around with the body all covered up?

The Challenger has already been reveiled to the world.

If someone was going to copy it that could do some from all the pics already provided by dodge and the car shows.

I think they attract more attention driving around with the car covered then they would just driving it.

From this shot, I'd say there's definitely a B pillar.

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

In a memo sent by Ed Peper last June 29th to all chevrolet dealers, Ed wrote: "The Chevy Camaro COUPE will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2009." A COUPE has a B-Pillar...so the Camaro will probably not be a hard top. The Mustang also has a B-Pillar...I guess everybody will have to live with the B-Pillar!!!

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

I think if you look at the "bras" on the car from both sets of spy shots, the opening on the drivers' side looks to be functional, where the one on the passenger side appears to be oversewn/closed.

As far as the "b" pillar is concerned, it's hard to tell since it's covered pretty well. I guess we'll have to wait for more revealing photos to surface before making a definitive determination. I'm hoping it's a true hardtop - with no "b" pillar.

Glad to see the wheel well flares made it this far - very nice.
