If you look at all the pictures and read all the posts on different forums, so far, it LOOKS LIKE the changes made to the concept are as follows:
1- Added B-pillar
2. Shorter front end with a change in the angle of the front clip
3. Added roof gutters
4. Flat door walls (not curving in)
5. Different rear tail light
6. Modified front grill
7. The interior will certainly be modified
Some members do not want any whinning on this forum...and they are right! Take the car as Chrysler will build it or buy something else! No other choice! I wanted to buy the concept...but it will not be available as is.
Some members will like some of the changes while some others will not...WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THESE CHANGES!
Ok, I got some stupid news from the Dodge dealership here in North Texas. I was on the call list to place my order. I called back to see if they were taking orders yet and the dealership said they would only get one Challenger and it was being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Anyone else heard of this stupidity?
They may get only one 2008 model. They'll have the opportunity to order lots of 2009s a few months later, though.
A British online magazine has commented on the pre-production Challengers. The article had two interesting points. First it said the 6.1 Hemi has been tuned to 450 hp. Second, it will sell in the UK for 40,000 pounds or $80,945!
Cuda340 - The $80k price tag is a european price tag. For some weird reason, cars in europe cost around twice what they do in the US
The American price should be around $30ks.
Just for reference, a Dodge Avenger 2.0 SXT costs $35,203 (€25,850) in Europe. In the states it goes for $19,920
Well a reason or a possible reason might be that our/the American paper Dollar is not the value it was 1,2,3, or even 4 years ago. In fact I believe this is the case across the rest of our planet ! It takes more USDs to get a British Pound /Sterling !!

The roof also looks higher to me, but it could be an illusion.
1) Prefer it without the b-pilar, but I don't mind it (stronger body)
2) Looks the same length to me (a few inches shorter would be fine)
3) Someone probably sued a car company for water creating a puddle (slip and fall), so they all started putting in gutters. Fill them in.
4) This flat door thing I really don't like. If it takes away too much of that high thrust line ride and under-belly roll, this would kill it for me.
5) The long tail light is a great design, but I would like to see what else they can do with two lights. If they stick to the same quality of detail, then it should still be cool.
6) I don't mind this kinda empty grill, but the cross-hair looks really classy. Without its kinda mustang-like. But I wouldn't mind too much. A good after-market part.
7) I like the interior as is. The detail in there is so awesome.
So far, so good, but I hope they stick to that door and quarter panel inward curviture....that's really nice.
Very Sweet! Can't wait - thinking about tradin' the Charger on a new Challenger instead!?!? Anyone else out there just driving that Charger until this baby comes along?
Dodge Challenger Test Mule on the Streets of Michigan
We've shown you plenty of coverage of the Dodge Challenger concept that debuted at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. It's been making the rounds at car cruises across the country, so there's no shortage of footage of the concept car on the road.
But with production of the 2008 Dodge Challenger less than a year away, full-blown prototypes have been appearing on the streets outside Chrysler headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Our spy shooters managed to snag these latest spy photos along with some video of one such prototype despite attempts by the test driver to elude them.
There are no significant new details visible on this prototype. Its overall shape mimics the concept closely with its classic long hood/short deck proportions. One notable change is the appearance of what looks like a pair of B-pillars. The concept went without them, of course, but we're guessing the production model might need them to pass the crash test standards necessary for production. We hope we're wrong on this one.
From what our spy shooters could hear, this prototype was definitely running a V8, so expect to see the current 5.7-liter Hemi as the standard power plant in the 2008 Challenger. It's hard to tell at this point what transmissions will be offered. The concept had a six-speed manual, but if Dodge wants to sell the Challenger in any significant numbers, it's going to need an automatic, too. Some speculation says the manual will be reserved for the SRT version, but we think all models will offer both.
The fact that there will be an SRT version is almost certain, however, as Dodge will be looking to capitalize on the fact that the Challenger goes on sale well before the upcoming Chevrolet Camaro. If Dodge can get a 5.7-liter model out in the spring followed by a 6.1-liter version shortly thereafter, the company will be well ahead of Chevrolet, which isn't expected to start production of the Camaro until early 2009. We hear there will be V6 versions of the Challenger, too, but probably not at launch.
