Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

At least the b pillar seems to be an interior item. Damn camera phones! I am not sure that the slope of the front end is greater than that of the concept, the phot could be misleading. What I am concerned about is that it looks like they got rid of the back up lights that were set in the bumper, it makes that rear bumper look like a slab. The rear tailights might be interesting though. I think it would be cool if they used the original exhaust tips. If they cut these into the rear bumper it might help get rid of the slab look. Does it have a front lip spoiler to? Damn camera phones!

Getting closer!!!

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

WOW... this is new info that got me out of my " coma"! This is good stuff! Let's see the apparent modifications to the concept...

1970 style rear tail lights set up
addition of a B-pillar
non functional butterflys
1970 style grill
front end-hood unit shortened and more sloped
mirrors sticking out more

...and this is at first glance and without seeing the interior!

I think that we are at 99% sure in the presence of the pre-production model and not in the presence of a modified concept! It would be completely illogical for Chrysler to modify to that extent the concept. I think we are seeing the final product of one of the car shells we saw on the pre production line when the B-pillar saga started! It must be very close to the car we will see in February 2008!

So far, my impression is that I and we will be very happy with the production challenger styling and proportions!

I would like to know your comments on these changes and would love to see the interior! Anyone has any more photos and-or info!

I really hope u are right about the photo being misleading but I have a bad feeling the front end is shorter and more sloped, it's the shorter part that really bothers me though. I love the back up light, it looks more like a '70 and the more like the originals the new Challengers look the happier I am. The original 'cudas had the exhaust tips that came through the rear of the body and it is one of the coolest things I have ever seen on a car to this day.

I'm not sure ; if it's the straight-on front shot or if it's really out more : Champcaracing ?

Ok,that clears that part. I know I read somewhere : that the butterflaps wouldn't be there or be functional and/or that a single functional inlet would be there !!!UPDATE: Here's where I must have recollected : More Rumors ! Of course , there quite possibly may be several different hoods/inlets coming ,functional , for different models [ ie SRT, R/T, SXT[ probably a standard hood { no inlet [s] } ,SE etc--- just like in the "olden days" !! In fact, this one pictured here probably is an SRT Pre-Production version ; made especially for the Chrysler Dealer's Convention ! P.S. What will happen to this vehicular when the convention is over { I will like to }??? What other use[s] could be utilized : Darn that Kowalski ! !!

Do I see 3 people in this picture : a security guard sitting opposite, then a person in blue and then this second Security Officer walking by the front of the Challenger with what appears to be a right fist pumping ," YES' !! !

I'll take your 99% and raise you to 100%. This is *NOT* the concept. That said, I am skeptical about some of these "defects" that are mentioned. Shortened and oversloped front end? Hmm seems like it would be a good idea to hold fire until there are some high resolution pictures (taken by high quality photographic equipment) similar to those presented at the 2006 auto show where the concept debuted. I don't trust camera phones at all.

Re: 2008 Dodge Challenger Spy Shots

Man, Ill tell you what, I am getting EXCITED over this car. It does not look to be overbloated (any more so than cars are these days) and since im not into vehicle design, I dont know what i am supposed to be nit-picking, I just know what i like and I thinks me like! Now keep the price in the same price range as the Charger and Im there!
