Re: 2009 Dodge Challenger Pricing!

Just got my RT 6 spd manual. Everything except sunroof, HID, and NAV...none of which I need or wanted. Total damage was $33,900 so I feel like I got a pretty good deal at almost $3K less than MSRP for a black 6 speed. I had planned to spend close to $44K on a SRT so $10K ought to buy a few mods, however I think I'm going to drive it stock and enjoy the cash savings for a bit. Found my deal in Nebraska...thank you Cornhusker state.

I think the actual price difference is typically $10k less. I just looked at both models but I couldn't find a good enough deal on an SRT.
Well, MSRP is about the only price local dealers would give R/T or SRT, so that's the situation where I'm at. Heck, if you'd looked on Vehix.com, across the nation, the "highest" price listed SRT was the closest dealer to where I live (89,999). I am dealing for MSRP at a dealer 180 miles away, so we shall see. Still, SRT for my money But dang I love that Dark Titanium Metallic.

Can the R/T handle the 500 HP , I'm on the edge i dont wont all the gadgets or heated seats & such except the 0 -60 times and all that on the steering cluster & the trac pak 6 speed. I wont to lock in a car & keep the price down but wont the Hp's up around 500 eather car is doable for me I just wont some money for mods what do you Guy's think would be best for me. Should handle close to 500. The blower is 470. Don't think I'd go much mor ethan that personally. In reality, once you cross that threshold other stuff is going to break on either a manual RT or SRT as it relates to the Tremec tranny. The forged internals of the SRT will be good for more than the 470-500, but then you hae to deal with other weak links common to both cars anyway. It's all in what you want to do. I'm not knocking the SRT at all, you get a lot of good parts. In fact, I'd like a set of SRT factory exhaust manifolds if anyone decides to upgrade to Kook's, etc... headers.

Please don't settle for msrp. Buy one from around here in IL or IN. I am picking my car up today from Terra Haute IN. I have two silver 6 speed R/T's ordered, both for UNDER msrp that you can have dibs on and change the color, whatnot, if you like. Unless you are paying cash you can even get $1000 off by using a credit union to finance. The cars I have ordered are exactly the same but the cheaper of the two is 1% below invoice. I got a much better deal buying a car in stock though. Another dealer (of questionable character) has a 6 spd silver R/T with no sunroof that they offered me at invoice before we even started dealing.

I'll also add: be a little more patient. GMAC got a 5 billion push from Uncle Suger today. They announded 0% loans almost immediately and pushed the credit score rating for a loan from 700 to 621.

I'm pretty sure that as soon as Chrysler Financial gets their "fix" they will follow suit. Give it a little more time.

Rallye72, I appreciate it!
My dealer, Lee DCJ in Fort Walton Beach, FL came through in the clutch! They found a DWB R/T Manual with almost all the trimmings, at least all that can't be put in later. I am taking delivery tomorrow!

Great !

Amazing, I lived in FWB while I was stationed at Eglin years ago. I miss the ocean big time.

Enjoy the car.

Well, I still want an SRT8. How tough is it to cancel an order? Any issue with the dealerships people have dealt with? I'm thinking I'll just find a car on a lot, but didn't necessarily want to cancel the order till I did.
