I , for one , walked in Feb. on pricing for a R/T Classic. Yes, I was (and still am) red hot for the car , but no because the car was still overpriced ,IMO. A fellow retiree just picked up a brand new 08 Shellby off the floor for nearly 12K off list. That's the kinda of dealing I respect. Of course I'm not suggesting that a new Challenger can be had at such a deal at this time , but to support dealer guouging is something I refuse to do.
Chrysler and most of their dealer network deserve to lose their shirts.

BTW, Autotrader has over 2,500 unsold (mostly new Challengers ) listed for sale.
My friends, they are not RARE and production will commence again and run for a couple of years more and bankrupcy will not interfere. Tighter emission and CAFE standards imposed by the new administration will kill it, but by then the deals on new and especially, low mileage used ones will be very, very good.

Just my .02 from and oldster.

Exactly!
I have to laugh, (or cry), to think anyone with a fully functioning brain could think otherwise...very sad, but I guess that's why the Country is in the shape it's in. Gas just went up 9 cents yesterday, yea $3.00/gal is really gonna help get those people buying Challengers at retail!!!!

You sure? it worked for me. At least I think it did....I've been in I for weeks now. If it is up and running, then my car is just sitting in the Brampton lot waiting for #12 to come along and inspect it so it can be shipped.

Chrylser was hoping for the cabbage patch doll syndrome with the Challenger. A couple of years ago people were paying over list price for houses too. Now houses are down 20 to 30% in value.

Funny, dealers around here aren't even taking orders for Challengers now.

Ya VinWIN is now back up and running. There was a scare there for a bit that it was being shutdown by Chrysler.

Same thing happenned to me in 99 when the Honda Odyssey mini-van first came out. We negotiated a price over the internet, set up a day and time for delivery, I show up and they wouldn't honor the price, said it was bound to be a hot seller and wanted $800 more. I walked out drove to another Honda dealer and bought one.

Skialfs,

Regarding the deal I got on my R/T last Tuesday: The MSRP was $36,210. I paid $34,344. I realize I would have done better in Feb. but can't turn back time. Maybe I would have saved more than $1800 as that figure was off the top of my head. I don't remember what that car would have cost under EPP+.

But the important thing is that I love the car!

Bill

It also qualifies for the federal tax deduction. The Indiana dealer was $1,148 under MSRP or $600 above invoice.

To clarify the other information about vehicles on the lot since October. The dealers are getting cash from Chrysler to sell "Aged Inventory". That is on any vehicle that was on the lot before October 1. Most Challengers do not apply. Unforunately, the one I'm interested in hit the lot last December. It is up to the dealer on whether to pass that cash onto the customer.
which dealer in indiana did you go,what city
