On the allpar.com site, a discussion took place about the Challenger's platform. It was stated that "the Challenger isn't happening until the upgrade to the LX platform is because the LY replacement is going to be used on it. Doesn't make any sense whatsoever to make the suspension system based on the LX for one year and then change it, doesn't make sense in the cost either....


Told to me by a VERY reputable source:
LX = 300C, Magnum, Charger

LC = Challenger (4" shorter, same front cradle, same rear cradle, no all wheel drive. 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi, Viper 6 speed Manual, 2 disk clutch)."

It makes sense! The 5.7 should be the base CHALLENGER and the 6.1 the R/T. The following year the SRT should have a larger engine .

According to an article that appeared in the Business Globeand Mail.com, the release date is April 2008 for the Challenger.
