Re: Chrysler heavily considering making Firepower a reality

Well, that grille, to me, appears to be for CEO and President types ! Hopefully DCX will come out with at least 3 choices for Grilles. Heck, now I'm even thinking of a Firepower SRT8 with functional hood scoop !!!!!!!!

Re: Chrysler heavily considering making Firepower a reality

Firepower could be a cool car. It's essentially what the Viper was originally, only "classed up" a little bit. If they put the hemi in it and it's pushing 400hp or so - it could be a fun, fun car.

I remember reading about the Firepower a couple years ago. Now that they've been pushing the 300 SRT-8 (and SRTs in general), Chrylser does have an improved performance image. So this could fit in nicely.

But it's definitely been overshadowed by the Challenger lately. Looks like everyone is pushing "backward" for more retro instead of forward. But that's cool for now. Cars are finally starting to get some character again!

Yeah, but see; the Challenger is Dodge / for Dodge and that usually stands for a younger generation and/or possibly "Hipper" ! Now , Chrysler is considered a more stern ,straight-forward,Establishment type of person [ which is not necessarily 'Bad" just a different sort of person/personality >>> thus they also need something .... a Firepower ,,, you know like a Charles Schwab or Donald Trump -like character .I could see Clint in both !!

Aren't we talking a $50k car here? I really like the look. The interior is just stunning, especially all white. But we are talking a $50k 2-seat car, right?

there is no way this car is gonna be 50k. maybe for the srt version after dealer markup, but no way for a 5.7 or 6.1. when they say "priced a little above the mustang" they dont mean that much. from what i've gathered, it will be in between the price of the charger R/T and SRT.

He is speaking of the price of the Firepower. I believe that it would be higher than 50k though.

If an SRT8 Charger is in the low 40's then I'm afraid the limited/ special production Challenger will be in the High 40's which will be 50k after taxes & fees.

The Viper based Firepower will definitely be slightly under the Viper price range, which means likely means the mid-high 50's and up.

Re: Chrysler heavily considering making Firepower a reality

Last year, during a Car & Driver 'road test' review of the Firepower concept, they mentioned that the projected sticker was rumored to be around $65,000.
