I would think the 2008 Firepower would/will need the 392 Hemi /6.4L but probably a 6.6L : if there is such an engine ? I can't really see the legenday 426 HEMI /7.0L; since that is best viewed with OEM Shaker hood .

Earlier this month General Motors made it official, there will be a higher performance Corvette. While that came as little surprise, considering all the spy shots and all of the inuendo by GM execs, it was still nice to hear that was official. Long known as the “Blue Devil”, the Corvette is expected to wear the Super Sport badge and will be called the Corvette SS.
Back in December, GM admitted that it got carried away with the use of the SS badge, and it will be more careful in the future. The first sign of this was the Chevrolet Equinox Sport, which was expected to wear an SS badge. Clearly, if anything deserves to wear an SS badge, a 600-hp Corvette has to be one.
The Corvette SS is expected to debut that the 3008 Detroit Auto Show, and will be known internally as the GMX245-SSC (GMX245 is GM’s internal code for the C6 Corvette).

The Viper at 600 H.P. is currently available. The Vette is currently the Z-06 at 505 H.P. and is inferior to the Viper. When they finally produce a 600 H.P. version, if they are able to do so, then we can see it and tell what it's capable of. But for now it's just talk/smack from gm. BTW, I'm sure as phord did they will have to use a Turbo or SuperCharger. The Twin Turbo Viper is the Worlds Fastest car besting even the Bugatti's Veryon at Texas by MT magazine last month. Hennesey's Twin Turbo Viper went 220+M.P.H. besting all the cars that were invited.

Geez, I sure ain't waiting until them! Chevy was 13 years at finally besting the Viper for the first time, so maybe that is true!

Yes, somewhat similar! Oh yes, you /we can count on it. I just hope [ and believe] that Chrysler knows how important the Challenger is to us and to them;;; I hope it leads to the MCRR !! !!!!!!!!
